This location is near to the Kinabalu Park entrance. Need a transport if you want to reach to this place from Kota Kinabalu City. You must be a good and patient driver as the road to this place really challenging and sharp corner. Quiet and cold all the time, this place only offer basic amenities. Not a good place for...

This is our second vacation at J Residence and hopefully not our last. The rooms are secluded from the main road and very comfortable. We all had a wonderful time. It was extra special to share with friends who will now have memories of this beautiful place.

We had room 6 which was big, clean and had deck. Other rooms further down the hill looked over the valley. After some busy city holidaying this place was perfectly quiet with a 'hands off' approach from the staff. Just 300 metres from the park, and restaurant open from 7:30am to7:30pm that served really good humble meals), easy to find...

I write this review on my 1st day here, we're very surprised of the steep entrance which can fit one car on one way only. But we are amazed at the chalet, very clean, cold and provided towels, jug kettle, warm shower and killer patio view suitable for long chats with friends. The place is very quiet, if you want...

For what I paid I can't complain. It is a chalet type accomodation. I didn't expect too much. On the 1st day the weather was with us. Chilly but bearable. We could sit outside and chat for a few hours. Temperature was about 17°C at 10pm. In the part of the country, this is about the time you sleep. Watched...

The hotel is located less than 10 min walk to both the park entrance and a good restaurant opposite. There is a small shop 5min walk in the opposite direction. Reception has limited opening hours so check your booking instructions or contact the hotel with your arrival time. There is a steep incline down from the main road to the...

My family really felt as being at home and shared the spacious living area and very clean rooms. The villa is in the middle of nature, and far from noisy road-passer by. Had a good time BBQ-ing till dawn! If opportunity knocks again we will definitely revisit the villa.

We stayed here for two nights and the location is great for getting to the park etc! The staff member we dealt with was so rude, and barely spoke a word to us! There is no where to eat, no breakfast etc so you have to either make provisions for this or eat in the restaurant just outside the park...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just 300 metres away from the entrance of Kinabalu Park Headquarters, J Residence is the nearest lodge outside Mount Kinabalu National Park, and with rooms price three times lower than those chalets and lodges inside Kinabalu Park. J Residence was built in the year 2010 and our lodge are partially hidden by trees and plants from the main road. Our lodge overlook the Bundu Tuhan dwelling & farming community while the back is decorated with rows of tall matured pine trees. Temperature here ranges from 19°C to 17°C at night. Truly a great place to seek refuge from the hot equatorial climate of the other major cities of Sabah. ... more   less
