Room cleanliness is ok but not the toilet, some of wash room facility is breakdown. Tap water pressure is low when more than 2 person take bath together. Because its located in centre and have bar/pub around the shop lot. You definitely can't get good sleep because the live concert everyday from 8pm-1am!!! People is sing song with very loud,...

Private double room was very small. Shared toilets ok, but Womans only had 1 working on our floor during our one night stay. There are cats running up and down the hallways. Can be noisy at night due to live band that plays outside downstairs at night. Was well overpriced in comparison to the other place we stayed at in...

what a location, its smack in the middle of everything..but a bit noisy right up to midnight, but all good, BBQ can be better, but drinks really cheap. Mostly tourist, convinient store everywhere, and Taxi as well. definitely not for those who are sensitive to noise pollution, we are ok, we out to party on holidays..

The Rainforest Lodge in Kota KInabalu is a popular overnight place with individual tourists and small (European) groups alike. The rooms are basic but clean. There are many restaurants and bars (with live music) in the neighborhood as well as markets and food stals. Recommended to travellers on budget.

[I feel enough need to warn others, and to vent, that I actually signed up for an account - wow.] This place is insanely loud, as in "can't sleep even with earplugs" loud in any room with a window. The center courtyard area looks lovely, but is unusable after about 5pm, when they start looping club music at insane volumes...

Its near EVERYWHERE in KK. However, do consider the noisy band every night. You may want to get a room that is located at the back facing Gaya St. We were booked at Rm 14. It has a veranda and its far from the noisy crowd downstairs.

This place is difficult to fathom - on the one hand a perfectly nice backpackers that is good value with friendly staff - on the the other hand it is also a full blown nitespot with VERY loud live music playing late EVERY night of the week to a crowd of 3 people. You would think the 40 people lying...

Location is good, but very very loud at night. A band till midnight followed by more music well into the night. Rooms are small, fairly clean (bathroom could be a little cleaner). Some staff was good, some not. Cheap but I think that you can get better deals in town.

Immaculate place run by the affable Frank who seems to own half the town. Nonetheless this means he knows someone for everything. Nice guy, his restaurant opposite isn't amazing, but his hostel is simply fantastic. Front rooms are noisy as they are near the main road, but the balconies are fab. Would always go back and stay in a noisy...

A nice little hostel, friendly staff and great location. Great location for bars, restaurants and night Market (the best place to have dinner in the evening) however there is a bar downstairs that plays loud music until about 1am, so I didn't get a great night's sleep (even with earplugs!) I guess if you want to go to bed late...

“- If you have air vent openings on top of your room door, ask for another room, that is a sleep killer because it channel air and live band sound to your ears. - Bring your own blanket, the air conditioning has no remote control, and their blanket is actually a towel. - Go to tripadvisor.com, and find other similar price range hotels, you'll regret staying here. Beware: We checked in 2 days ago, and found out the hotel name has changed to De Beach Hotel.”
