Stayed in executive floor premier corner room with balcony overlooking fabulous sunset sea view. Bathroom with full height glass sharing the same view with the balcony.

The room itself is nice and cosy, bed and pillows are comfy, however, the extra rollaway bed i ordered for my daughter is awful, the mattress is sagging and i don't expect to pay almost RM200 extra for this saggy bed.

In overall, the view and the location are the only good points for this hotel, the service of the hotel is not at all to reach Marriott Bonvoy's standard, with the extra bed added, it's well known that there were 3 person staying in the room but towels and toiletries were not replenished adequately during housekeeping, i requested extra through the Bonvoy's app service request but was no avail even after 2 hrs, and the app's status shown "all done", eventually i'd to direct chat with front counter only get the extra towel delivered after almost 3 hours, together with a whole plastic bag of extra toiletries, all kinds (which i only requested for extra bottle of shampoo and body shower) so is that a kind of silent sarcasm?

On day 2 during my stay, when I left my room early morning at 6am to visit Kundasang, there're these dishes & meal accoutrements of room service left outside in the hallway outside my door by the neibouring room and guess what, it was not cleared and taken away until day 4 when i checked out from the hotel!

The breakfast of the hotel is another disappointment, not much choice and it's repetitive everyday, and food is not replenish after 9.30am despite the buffet breakfast serve till 10.30am.

The service of the hotel is a big let down and doesn't match Marriott standard at all.

Staying with Marriott KK for 2 nights from 23-25 May 2022. The experience was quite good. Location is strategic, located at the city centre, walking distance to KK Waterfront, Filipino Market, Handcraft Market, Todak hawker centre etc...

Arriving at noon, our luggage was handle by a friendly security(wonder that why there is no bellman at this property?)

Check in process was fast and done by a helpful front desk staff name Danise. Our room located at 10th floor, overlook to the south china sea. The room is huge and comfortable, the only sad thing is the wifi & tv channel down on 24 may.

The infinity pool at 8th foor quite nice, however is lack of pool service, the pool attendance standing at the towel kiosk. When we approch to get a towel, she just look at us, no greeting not asking our room number.

The rooftop bar is my favourite spot in the entire property. 50%off during the happy hour, spacial thank for Elizabeth friendly service.

Communicate with the hotel through GXP, the respond was fast, we did not goes down for breakfast at restaurant, however we order in room dining breakfast, delivered on time and the food is delicious.

Overall the hotel is quite good, just need a little of maintenance. The Oceanus Mall next to the hotel was totally become empty, lot of shop lots close down due to the pandamic.

+ the rsvn and Front Desk staffs are very attentive, helpful and friendly. I love the hotel staff who are not biased to their guests. Unfortunately I forgot their name and sorry can't give a shout out here. Including concierge, other f&b staffs and everyone are worth to mention here. Keep this work quality, guests will love you guys for sure
+ the Dlx room are spacious with two queen beds with city view. Amenities are branded and sufficient, and furniture and room layout are modern design, can fit any type of travellers
+ Tv channels are sufficient, and wifi are fast
+ The infinity pool is very great, the view is unbeatable maybe in KK. The changing room has a sauna and changing lockers too, for usage altogether with gym goers. The gym is also very spacious.
+ The breakfast was amazing. The variety is very big, perfect for a 5* star hotel. But I personally like the Mee Kolok(not sure what the real name), the chef make in open order, and the taste is perfect. Also, the fnb staffs here also very attentive to you and your request, thumbs up. - hotel also a walking distance to food court, malls, and popular night market in KK. Easy to catch a grab too here.

- I can say nothing

I am very satisfied with this stay. Worth to repeat, and I'm ready to rebook for my next stay in Oct2022.

It stated that each set promotion include soup of the day, fruit platter and free flow carbonated drink.

Unfortunately after our food served, im asking the staff to serve the soup however they were not sure about the soup and said no soup available. ( ??? )

Fish and chip dish ,the batter is no really good enough so the fish not fried very well. The skin is soft not crispy.

It will be fine if the staff can inform us earlier no soup and fruit platter available and ask if we are okay if change to other items rather than more disappointment we get.

Staff is not well known regard the promotion. They reject me at first to using Marriott Bonvoy discounts.I believe more training should be given to the staff.

The Marriott property in this location is designed well and located at the very best. However this could not be enjoyed this trip due to the daunting amount of tourist activity in one location. This lent for the hotel to be extremely dingy and lacked the visible cleaning before, during, and after. I had to ask for my room to be attended to from the front desk since I never seen the visible staff on my floor the entire three days. It could be that I didn’t see them because the lighting in the halls were so dim or low. This made me feel unsafe until I got used to it. Maybe this keep the halls quit or covers the filth on the floor. Sorry to keep saying, but I suffered sinus issues because of these mentioned housekeeping practices.

My wife and I stayed in this Marriott for a few days while traveling all around Malaysia.
Everything from the food served at breakfast to the hand-written welcome letter was covered perfectly.
From the welcome as soon as one steps out of the taxi to the moment you leave, the staff here really treat you like royalty and make a real effort to make you feel at home!
All the details with the room, the Lounge, the housekeeping and restaurants are 5 star.
What really stands out is the service with a smile from absolutely every staff member that we encountered!

I really couldn’t find any inherent flaws or poor service issues except one, which was the steam room.
It’s a gorgeous steam room as steam rooms go, but the issue is that it shuts off automatically and takes over an hour to heat up again. The stone seat and walls feel cold to the touch even after it’s on for 45 minutes. I think a solution may be to leave it on, but also to increase the temperature as it never really got hot enough to break a real sweat.

Other than that, this property and its staff get an A+
It would be good if there was a sauna as well, but considering the location, I was thrilled just to have a Marriott nearby!

Lastly, if you can splurge a little more $, go for the Club Lounge accessible rooms as you’ll get great dinner and unparalleled service from the best crew around! Like family!!

Hi-tea for 2 pax..... scones, sandwiches, pastries and bottomless beverage of coffee/tea. Was a good place to sit and catch after dining in was not offered until recently.

The only set back was the air con is not working at the optima as we started sweating after sitting for awhile.

Checkin was quick and friendly.

As a Marriott Ambassador I was upgraded to a really nice suite overlooking the ocean. The suite was clean, bed was super comfortable and the AC worked great. Internet was very good speed however, the TV channel selection was very poor no CNN, HBO, or TLC.

My biggest complaint about this hotel is the poor staffing and food quality at The M Club Lounge. Each time I visited I was left with a very poor impression. They were alway out of basic items such as coffee, tea or and cups. The food quality was awful as most hot food was deep fried and processed meat cold cuts. Also, replenishing was extremely slow, there were many times absolutely everything was cleared out. Dirty dishes would stay on tables for long periods of time. This has to be the worst lounge I have ever visited.

I would advise NOT to book a club room here as it’s not worth the money.

The hotel is connected to a ghost mall with 90% of the shops closed and boarded up. All 4 escaltors were not working and I didn't feel safe as there were lots of people inside loitering taking shelter either from the heat or rain.

Also, the hotel sits directly underneath the flight path for landings and takeoffs so you can hear lots of noise throughout the day and into the night.

I hv visited the marriott several times, each time using my bonvoy points. The drawback is breakfast is not included in the point system despite paying 17500 points ( how much usd is that?) for the nights stay. Not encouraging.

While cash paying stays at rm290 includes breakfast for 2 pax.
Will marriottbonvoy consider including breakast after charging hefty points for the stay?

Upon arrival in the hotel, I was greeted by the concierge/bellman who was friendly to me. The purpose of the visit was to attend a conference which allowed me to visit the ballroom which was quite impressive and new. The favourite part of the conference was the washroom which had a floor to ceiling window with a view of the famous KOTA Kinabalu sunset.

The buffer lunch options were sufficient enough for my standards but could further improve upon by increasing the dessert option.

Overall, Marriot kota kinabalu is a suitable place for conferences in the city.
