We booked a room for these two nights last few months together with our flight tickets. But when we had arrived here, we walked & walked so as to look for this hotel for almost an hour, while we had also asked so many people. Finally, what we can only found is it had already closed down!!!! In fact, we...

There were no lights in the hallway, no real door to the toilet in the room, no lock on the "door" of the toilet. The beds makes a lot of sound when you move. A lot of noise coming from the streets at night. The price was good but I think you can get so much better rooms somewhere else!

We arrived from Kota kinabalu airport at summer lodge hostel on a Friday evening around 10pm. We had booked a double room with a window for £35 for two nights, paid in full, in my name, via expedia.com. On arrival they asked for our booking name, found it, but said the room was no longer available (despite the booking being...

Located along Gaya street, it's a cheap n convenient option for travelers. Room is nothing great but for the pricing I guess tats wat u get. Lots of eateries ard the area n there are malls, supermarket n pharmacy making it easy to look for amenities n food.

We needed a place to use for just a few hours (to rest before our flight back home), so I searched for a cheap place with air-conditioning and a hot shower...and found Summer Lodge. I used "Lonely Planet" as a reference, as it stated that the people were very friendly. Sadly, this was not so. The man on the front...

Pro's: staff is really friendly and accommodating - breakfast is included: REAL coffee and toast with peanutbutter and jam - price is good: 60 ringgit for double room without window + AC! - good beds, we actually slept really well! Did stay twice in room 207 so don't know about the other beds - shower was also ensuite and really...

This is an OK place - compared to what you can find in Kota Kinabalu in the same price range. We liked it. Stayed here three nights on two different occasions. Clean rooms and pretty cheap. We didn't have any problems at all with cockroaches or bed bugs. The staff was nice and very helpful when I got sick.

One thing good about this lodge is it’s very near everything: the malls, seafood restos along the bay, night market, bus and taxi stations, ferries, and stores and other restaurants. It is also located just along the Sunday Gaya market. Also, going to the lodge is very easy via the airport bus (RM5.00 only), and you'll be dropped off at...

We stayed for 1 night, but we wanted to leave even before that. It was like living in 'Joe's Apartment', the walls were covered in some black fungus and there was so much cockroaches. We checked in the afternoon, on the 3rd floor and it was all fine. Then we went out for dinner, when we returned there was a...

Stayed 3 nights - it's cheap but still too expensive. Cons - cramped cramped room, no windows, bootleg accordion-like bathroom door. Pros - good wifi and decent Air con. Maybe the fact that I didn't like KK (Kota Kinabalu) reflects on my opinion of this place too.

“There are no elevators, so if you have lots of luggage, maybe don't stay here? Ask for a room with a window - I think this will help keep the mould problem down (our room had no window, and lots of mould).”
