There are many hotels to choose as a stay experience in Penang. Seven Terraces kept on coming up during online search as one of the top hotels in Penang. I booked a two days stay during December 2018. The entrance to this hotel is not easy to find. Not a lot of visible signage.

We spend 3 days in Penang and stayed at the most cosy and atmospheric small hotel. Large rooms created in a local style - very clean and comfortable. A/C working well. Very friendly and forthcoming staff. All in all we would be pleased to come again.

This is a lovely place for authentic, no fuss dinner, fine dining immaculate service and a pretty mean gin and tonic too. This is the organic pork starter we had from the set dinner. The sliced crispy pork as main is also good as was the lamb. What I liked most about the place

The Seven Terraces has a real wow factor from the moment you step into the lobby, which is exquisitely decorated with antiques. It’s in a gorgeous old shophouse which has been lovingly restored and has every comfort for guests. The rooms let out onto an interior courtyard lit

How many types of rooms does the hotel offer for two person and what are options/differences?
I think there are 2 types of rooms and 2 suites. The rooms are big and two floors but they have stairs which are steep. The rooms are in the traditional style not modern style.

any free parking in the hotel or what are the parking options available. Thanks
They have parking outside. I phoned ahead and it was absolutely fine - would recommend doing the same. It seems most people don’t drive, but they didn’t seem to mind at all that my rental was parked up next to their rather splendid Rolls Royce! They even came out and waved us off.

We stayed at the Argus apartment suite which is actually very nice in particular for family/friends from 4-5 persons. The upper bedroom has door open to balcony and you can have the view of the surrounding area, mostly houses and lanes of the locals (depending on what views you are looking for). Also from the bathroom on the lower room has door open to balcony as well. The Argus unit is located at 2nd floor. It is very nice for us. Though if you are travelling with older/senior members it might be quite a challenge as it has steps and stairs to consider. By the way, the balcony has chairs for sun-bathing,the area is quite enough to enjoy.

"If you can get a suite, go for it!"
"Rooms that do not back onto Stewart lane will be quieter, you can hear some late night activity, however it didn't bother us at all."
"The Stewart suites are worth splurging for. As some rooms give out to the street and the bars and restaurants, they could be a tad noisy."
"Angus side quieter"
"Most rooms are duplex that have a balcony"
