Undeniably the best luxury hotel in Penang, with its modern interior and polished finishings. The rooms are all decorated differently, and they're all amazing and comfortable. It's Malaysia's only hotel listed under the highly-acclaimed Design Hotels collection. The mansion itself has an understated quality and crisp aura that makes it easy to love, with different spaces for different occasions and...

We recently stayed at Macalister Mansion for a few nights. It was our first trip to Penang and we had high expectations of this hotel based on their website. However, the Macalister Mansion exceeded our expectations on all counts - the room was certainly one of the best we've stayed in anywhere, the service was excellent and the ambience is...

The tea was tasty and the pastries got good varieties but need improvement. The scones were too dry, the mushroom soup were cold needs to be warm. The macaroons were a bit too sweet. The place is nice with three different options concept rooms for afternoon tea

We are used to travel and see beautiful boutique hotels around the world but I have to say that this one is absolutely spot on! You feel the real atmosphere of the boutique hotel life style as soon as you arrive, small, intimate, service is very discreet, no details have been left out. The towels are fragranced, the desk has...

The check in service needs improvement but most other services have improved. This is my third stay here and I still enjoy the stay. I hosted a dinner for eight in the dining room and the food was excellent. The swimming pool area seemed so calm when I walked there after dinner around eleven.

I find the food here better than Farquhar Mansion. The presentation of food is beautiful and the tasted superb. Thet added.with Asian style, make the food feel special. I enjoyed every food that came to me. However, until the payment by credit card, first attempt I was told can't get thru. It's impossible as I already receive sms from bank...

Service - 1/10 Food - 2/10 (Worst than my 10 years old daughter cook) Ambient - 7/10 (Look nice in photo but reality... very quite, spacious) Price - 10/10 (Fine dining price, very expensive) If...

This is a review of the fine dining restaurant only - didn't stay in the rooms. For the price, I found that the food was average. Maybe it was because some of the menu choices didn't quite gell together for me eg spicy ratatouille with a creamy chicken sauce, mascarpone yoghurt with ice cream, over-powering ginger sorbet. Food was nicely...

Was very pleased with this choice, lived up to expectations. Beautiful clean and well equipped room, very comfortable bed and great bathroom. Food was excellent even though breakfast choice was not the usual selection. Staff are very friendly and helpful but I think some were new so a few repeat requests required but nothing to bother about. Nice bar and...
