We spent 4 nights at the 1926 Heritage hotel and enjoyed it much. One good argument for us was the close distance to town and a relatively large pool with outside relaxing area in this (real) Heritage hotel, which used to be a set of private Malaysian architecture houses. A very long corridor was been cut through the previous living/dining...

The hotel is in need of being 'smartened up' as it is a beautiful old building spoilt through neglect. For example there's graffiti on the reception desk which is the wrong first impression to give as guests check in. The reception area was untidy & cluttered with take away boxes & cups - again not a good advert for hotel...

Location is quite convenient. Sufficient parking provided. Room is spacious, with old and worn fittings. Mattresses are hard, pillows are too thin. Bathroom is rusty and dirty, ugly watermark can be seen almost everywhere. Room floor is made by timber, if you are staying on ground floor, you will be disturbing by the noise from upper room. breakfast just too...

The hotel has been converted from a row of old houses giving it an interesting colonial atmosphere and decor. The building is older and as such the furnishing is older in style but perfectly adequate and the rooms kept very clean. The breakfast was sufficient to suit most tastes and replenished when required. Staff were very friendly and helpful and...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the staff were pleasant, the room was spacious and was cleaned daily. A minor quibble...why do hotel staff everywhere tuck the covers in so tightly that it's such a tremendous effort to release them. We received two free bottles of water a day which is always much appreciated. We had a small verandah...

Brought my Wife and my two sisters to try out the Hainanese dishes: curry kapitan, inche kabin, ladies fingers with sambal belachan, Assam fish and crab fu Yong. Although the food was up to our high expectations , the restaurant looked jaded and run downed in sharp contrast to the quality of food served. But nevertheless worth s visit for...

We booked a superior room to find ourselves offered a room that was certainly not superior - then offered a room with a balcony overlooking corrugated plastic roof then a room which had a view into pool. It was obviously the best they could offer and too late to get a refund if we moved on. Beautiful building in good...

We often do visa runs from Thailand to Malaysia. And usually, we make a small holiday out of it. We discovered this great hotel with a great pool, located just minutes away from the Royal Thai Embassy and Tesco. They provided a free crib for our 1-year-old. Lots of restaurants around and the breakfast is also not too bad.

Located off Imigresen Road and Burma Road, 1926 Heritage Hotel occupies 24 heritage link houses beautifully restored to its former glory. In 1999 The State Government of Penang under PDC (Penang Development Corporation) invested a significant amount of funds to refurbish this colonial property as a heritage hotel with most of its Anglo-Malay architectural essence still intact. Surrounded by spacious rooms, wooden interiors, long corridors, balmy balconies, beautiful victorian windows as well as pictures of the old Penang, a sense of nostalgia can be felt throughout the property. And we top that experience with warm, friendly service. The Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the historic city of Georgetown, founded in 1786 by Captain Francis Light. Listed as a UNESCO heritage city, Georgetown is a one of a kind melting pot of cultures, heritage, foods and festivals from diverse communities.1926 Heritage Hotel is all about bringing you the wholesome experience of the British colonial era and the spirit of Malaysian hospitality from the very moment you step into our lobby. We at 1926 Heritage Hotel are ever ready to go the extra mile to ensure your stay with us will be most memorable.
