This quaint and centrally located Homestay is managed by a very friendly family. Rooms are basic but sweet. Aircon is good. Ideal for family or back backers looking for safe stay with history. Has family room. Reasonably priced. Close to eateries n nightlife but not too noisy in the Homestay. Manager extremely helpful

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was fairly central, the building historic and the owner friendly and helpful, even mailing some postcards for us. The rooms were reasonably tidy and also quiet, and the price not excessive. All and all, a very pleasant stay.

A beautiful building full of history with delightful and amiable owner who explains everything/ anything you need to know about Penang and the house. Very well situated near public transport and most of the central sights. Confusingly, the name is misleading, this is not a hotel but a homestay which means no room service at all including no cleaning/change of...

Segara Ninda is a 100 year old beautiful house in the center of Georgetown. It is close to the main attractions, about 10 minutes from the ferry to Langkawi. I stayed in a room with ensuite bathroom. The room was very big, clean. Wifi is fast. The owner is a very kind and friendly old men, who shares some family...

The owner keeps the house very well maintained. We arrived quite late, with the delay of departure for a start, but the owner was still up and waiting for us. He was very helpful in giving information about where to go for food, shopping, walking, and friendly as well. The place itself is a very quiet ambiance and it makes...

Stayed here alone in a 90RM room, very decent price for a small but very clean and well equipped room. Superb location, very private and a such a nice owner!! Absolute recommendation! Tip: one night you want a pub with pub food, literally 10 m away on the left a street filled with bars start... Good atmosphere....

A wonderful colonial building right in the centre of Georgetown. There's many restaurants nearby and also an excellent night market. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the owner is very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place and would stay there again.

Amazing building, and great location. The rooms are beautiful, with character. They don't have the upkeep of a premium hotel, bit then this isn't a premium hotel. It does what it says on the tin - colonial building at value for money prices. The owneris very hepful, rooms kept clean, bedding nice and comfy, bathrooms basic but good. Location is...

The Segara Ninda is brilliant, we have 3 children so it is often difficult to find appropriate places to stay, it couldn't have been easier here. The Segara Ninda is full of character, the people working there are wonderful- kind & helpful. It is situated in a peaceful part of town but really close to all of the great streets...

I have just spent 4 happy nights at 'Segara Ninda' and I enjoyed it very much. The manager (whose family owns this historic building) Mr Tengku Yahaya is extremely helpful and a terrific host. I would suggest it better to book a First floor room rather than a ground floor room and Room 205 on the 1st floor, with a...

“If your budget allows, take room on 1st floor so you can open windows at night, not advisable on ground floor due to safety reasons. Choose rooms on right (when looking directly at hotel) of building (Shell garage side) or back but not front (noisy penang road) or left (close to night door and guests entering/leaving and also lights). My room was poky, 106, probably given to me as solo traveller, noticed that one room is close to night door, forget the number but ask not to be next to this door as would be noisy opening and shutting (big iron door which slides).”
