AC Hotel By Marriot is formerly known as Vistana Hotel. I expecting this hotel is good as any other Marriot Hotel but not so glamorous as supposed to be. Stay here just to collect point from Marriot Bonvoy. The room is small even though be given upgrade room. The interior room is outdated and old school. The black wooden furniture. The rooms key card is still using the insert and pull at the door for unlocking (instead of touch the door for unlocking). No deposit collected or necessary upon check-in. The breakfast is ok with limited selection of menu. Overall, I enjoy the stay.
Newly refurbished hotel after took over by AC Hotel by Marriott (used to be Vistana Hotel). I had a good stay throughout my 4 days business trip. Price was above average but it's expected. Good facilities except the hot shower is unstable during rainy days. Didn't manage to try the breakfast though. P/s: Do take note that the Waze and Google Map location might take you a different area which is about 1km away. Hotel might want to edit the marker.
AC Marriott Hotel Kuantan is the best place to stay while u in Kuantan. The front Office Manager, Ms Nandini are very helpful and friendly. She always available to help when you need. The hotel itself are very clean, spacious room and well maintain. This hotel also near to Kuantan main attraction like Teluk Cempedak, Gelora Park, Full of restaurants and
As a long time Marriott Bonvoy member, the Marriott group of hotels (usually Sheraton, JW Marriott, Le Meridien, Aloft etc) had been my first choice of hotel for both work and family holiday. We stayed at AC Hotel Kuantan, Malaysia from 8-10 October 2022. Unfortunately the stay had been a disappointing and unpleasant one, no where near what I would expect to come from both Marriott and YTL Hotels. 1. Front Office response - prior to arrival, I attempted to contact the hotel through phone and Bonvoy app message but to no avail. Phone call unattended to rings after ring and messages read but not responded. 2. Connecting Room arrangement - The reason I called was to arrange for connecting room as I have young children travelling together. Upon arrival I’m told that no connecting room available for the room class booked, unless I downgrade to a class lower; I clarified that I will be charged accordingly (ie refund to lower room rate) and it was confirmed. However, at checkout I was charged at the original rate, and was only reduced after my demand to speak with general manager of the hotel. 3. Swimming Pool Cleanliness - of all things, this had caused the most grief to us. When we used the swimming pool, we could feel some taste of rust in the water. Although felt that the water was not clean enough, we continued to use the pool on both days, after all this was a holiday stay. However, upon returning to our home in KL, we discovered my youngest boy’s ears were red and swollen. Doctor confirmed it was pinna dermatitis (infection of the pinna / ear), caused by allergens in the external environment is attributed to the swimming pool (picture can be provided) 4. Feedback - we attempted to provide feedback amicably to the attending hotel staff but the property clearly looked understaffed and none of the staffs were ready to take feedback. This was disappointing. 5. F&B - no evening restaurant service or room service; to be fair I had good service from the bar staff but that's negated by all the shortcoming above Overall the experience was abysmal, disappointing and a huge let down for once a reasonable property. Suffice to say I wouldn’t be returning to this property any time soon, or any AC hotel for that matter.…
The room is clean and tidy but a bit small. I asked for a connecting room but was told the hotel was full. A little disappointed during check-in. The young officer who manages check-in is expected to be more sensitive to the needs of customers. For the Customer Experience rating, I give this hotel a 4/10.
It’s my first time going to Kuantan, we choose AC Hotel because it’s close in the town and near the beach (also because it’s under Marriot brand). The hotel is newly renovated and feels new and fresh overall (only the lift is a little dated). The room interior was nice and comfy. The large window with the view of the Kuantan city is marvellous. We get a lot of sunlight from the window, sometime we need to close the curtain fully because it gets too hot. The toilet is clean but the shower area is a little small for a big guy like me. We had breakfast in the hotel for 2 days, the buffer spread is decent and the nasi lemak is delicious. There are 2 coffee machine in the restaurant so you no need to queue up too long for it. There’s also an egg station that cooks nice eggs. We went to the pool after we back from the beach, the pool water is warm due to the hot weather, however, there’s lots of resting place and beach chair around the pool. The staffs in the reception are very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the accommodation and we will be back.…
This is my second stay at this hotel and another redemption booking. Its a simple hotel, but carries the Marriot branding well through good and committed staff. Being an elite Bonvoy member, I have been rather spoilt in the past 12 years and the majority of my stays within the Group have always provided my breakfast free. However, redemption stays at this property doesn't include breakfast irrespective of status. On my first stay with this hotel back in August, I did express my views to the Manager - Julia Rashid. She rectified this immediately and I wasn't charged for my breakfast. On this, my second stay, I didn't even have to say a word and automatically my stay included breakfast though the redemption doesn't include it. Julia remembered my previous stay and told the check-in officer immediately. True credit to the management team. Its always nice to be remembered and creates a sense of belonging. Will definitely return to this hotel.…
Slow checkin, room not ready despite online checkin on time of arrival, front desk staff expected us to sit around and wait for 2 hours for room to be ready? No room service, no dinning, no executive lounge! Staff chatting and hanging around front desk chatting!!!!!!! Not friendly, they don’t greet you! Disappointing stay !!!
Check in took a while but front desk staff was friendly. Room was clean n comfortable which is nice for a short stay. Not much variety of choices for breakfast but they do have a coffee machine that produce nice coffee. Location of hotel is 15-20 walks to the shopping mall but would recommend just grab a car to bring you to the malls or restaurant as crossing the roads will take some courage.
I’ve made a booking for 1 night stay for a executive king room with sofa bed. On the morning of the stay, i did the online check in on the marriott apps. The process was smooth up until this. Later in the evening, I received a call saying that they couldn’t provide the room that we booked. And instead offered us another room which didn’t have a sofa bed, at a reduced rate, due to some problem with the maintenance. It was totally ridiculous!! What’s the point of us checking in earlier when our room was simply given to other guests?? I purposely booked that room for the sofa bed as we were travelling with the kids so we wanted them to sleep comfortably. End up, our kids need to sleep on the carpet with the blanket they provided.! Upon receiving the call, i tried to search for other accommodations, but sadly no other options available as it was a busy weekend. Just imagine after long hours of driving from melaka, we were told that our rooms were not available! This shouldn’t happen again either to us or to other guests. This was not our first stay, as previously we did have good memories with the hotel. After this incident, I won’t be returning back, as it did spoilt our mood for the entire journey. Poor us!…
