Hi tnyleong..hope this suggestion of mine will fine u in ample time. I recon if u take taxi from ipoh to cameron highlands will cost u approx Rm1k or somewhere between Sgd300-400. These are only my estimates as i never went there from this route.
If u r looking for better fares & comin down on ipoh airport there is a possible chance that it'll took u about a day to find an express bus to ch..which r more cost effective & shorter travel time on the bus compared to buses from KL.
2nd option will be to land in kuala lumpur airport & take the klia transit to salak selatan station. Over there u can go to TBS-Terminal Bersepadu Selatan which is a bus terminal & u can get an express bus to CH. Travel time will be a bit longer on the bus but u'll have more options available on the busses departure time compared to Ipoh.
Once u have reached CH then will it make more sense to take taxi to the hotel.
Enjoy your holiday!
