I decided an impromptu solo trip for 2 days 1 night at Temple Tree Langkawi due to some advertisement on a website. It proves to be true to the words of the advertisement. I stayed at Estate 1 which is a building rebuilt & restored at temple tree. It looks like an ordinary estate plantation house at the outlook, but...

If you are looking for an alternative to the ubiquitous chrome and glass multi storey hotel buildings the Temple Tree Resort in Langkawi could be just your cup of tea. Rebuilt and restored plantation workers and owners housing from the '40s is what you will find with a range of styles reflecting the local buildings as well as some Chinese-influenced...

Lovely place to stay for couple of nights - we booked late and got a great deal and were very lucky with our room. The lay out of all of the old houses is lovely and the furnishing interesting and unique. No beach on site but pool area is comfortable and relaxing. Cats are everywhere (be careful not to lock...

Lovely accommodation, quiet & peaceful. About 15min walk to town, best to get taxi. Not at the beach but the pool is peaceful. one pool had been turned into a pond i think? Didn't mind the cats but not too impressed when they cleaned up cat pee (after we accidentally locked one in for a few hours) with a towel....

Like staying at a museum, if you love authentic travel then this is the place for you. Temple Tree and Bon Ton is a stunning collection of Malaysian heritage villas. The interiors are elegant yet contemporary and authentic. Loved how they blended the Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian styles. The food at The Straits collection was pretty good, had the...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights in April 2013- it was amazing and the highlight of our travelling holiday!! We love cats and dogs- and Bon Ton was full of them so we volunteered to walk the dogs (who are all rescued and looked after very well!) and they gave us free drinks! The food was amazing,...

Amazing restored houses from all over Malaysia in a peaceful environment made a great place for our vacation. We stayed at the Colonial House in a very big room with a unique decoration character. The staff was very friendly and helpful. As for the cats, they are cute and don't tend to bother you at all. We would definitely come...

We stayed at Temple Tree because it came highly recommended and, while it is a nice place with very pretty heritage rooms, it is certainly not at any level somewhere we would recommend. The service is less than average (surly and inattentive) and the place is badly kept up with pretty poor overall standards. The value for money is appalling...

Have been to almost all the 4-5 star hotels on the island but this was a great change. Rating it excellent for the overall experience. Quirky and quaint, it has its style and charm. The owner must be commended for conserving Malaysian heritage and for giving shelter to all those cats and dogs. Not wanting to repeat too much of...

This is a place you got to if you would like to experience how most Msians of yesteryear lived (some still do so in similar houses found on property). The staff are accomodating and friendly and you are welcomed with a nice cold drink upon arrival. Some of the rooms are much hotter than others due to the material and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Though classified as B&B/Inn, Temple Tree is actually more of a boutique resort of many cultures, an eclectic mix of heritage chic...Antique buildings of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian origin, make up this 8 villa hotel, with 8 rooms & 6 suites now open. Each building has, over its 70-110 year old history, created its own heart and soul. Hopefully we have given due respect to each of these family homes with the restoration process. These houses are now the continuing the story of people who live in them, our guests. ... more   less
