Cheap for all those backpackers ... just so not expect the same level of comfort from 3 star hotel. Currently undergoing refurbishment so need to deal with paint smell. You could easily this place if you are driving as it well hidden. We got a room with 4 single beds for RM115 a night. Quite a bargain I must say.

It is conveniently located only 15 minute walk or 2 minute (RM6) taxi ride from JB Sentral. This is the terminal for crossing to Singapore by bus. The hotel itself is only average but that is normal for the price. Room could use a paint job and an airing out, it smelled a bit musty. The bus from KL and... More

I found this hotel is a good choice for backpackers. The room and bathroom was quite clean. Be aware since this hotel located near the train station, so you may find some noise until midnight. Breakfast provided is simple one at the restaurant beside the hotel. A little bit far if you ant to go to the city. I took... More

Before I booked into the Zen Zeng for 2 nights, I read all The tripadvisor reviews and was really scared if I was making the right decision or not. Well I stayed for two nights and wondered if some of the review writers stayed at the same hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find the room and bathroom clean and... More

Booked 3 nights but change to 1 night after I see the room (you can check out the room before making payment). Its clean but too ran down. Room was next to something (railway if i am not wrong) and very noisy till after 12 midnight. Cheap though at rm73 per night. Simple breakfast. Not so great location (3km from... More

I recommend the window rooms and at least you know if its day or night. The only complain is that they do not provide drinking water as they only provide a water... More

At an affordable price, cant complain much. There were no drinking water provided in the room although it was stated in their website, but there is a hot/cold water dispenser on the 2nd floor. Unfortunately it ran out of water on the 2nd day so had to go to the next building if i wanted. Wi fi connection is unstable.... More

Johor Bharu is hardly a "must see" destination but with that said it is a crucial stepping off point to Borneo (East Malaysia) and in all likelihood it is going to become even more important as Air Asia expands it's reach and as Singaporeans seek out alternative accommodation options. Anyway, the Zen Zeng Hotel is a reasonable option for your... More
