I just come back from this amazing place. It was great experience. My trip was planned in a hurry so i just checked places for kitesurfing and i haven't been worried about where i'm gonna stay for sleeping. So i knew that Emerald sea is a unique kite surfing experience but i didn't have any expectations about the lodge. So at first... More

My husband kite boards, so we came particularly for him, but eventually I ended up doing a couple of lessons to give it a go! They collect you from Ramena and you sail over by local pirogue over the Emerald Bay to the eco-lodge. The rooms are in fact huge tents (with actual beds) nestled in tree-house like structures that... More

Babaomby was a mind blowing experience, and for sure one of the best trip I did. The lodge in itself is superb, overlooking the spot which is one of the most beautiful place I had to kite surf. The wind is here everyday with no exception, from morning till sunset. The uncrowded spot offers different options: flat, small waves or... More

I had a wonderful week free ride wave kitesurfing at this isolated Eco lodge in Madagascar - awesome waves on the outer reef using 5m and 7m kites. Plenty of flat water for twin tips also. Great staff, guests, food and vibe. I thoroughly recommend this place if you're looking for a great kiting getaway and a place to chillout!

I don´t know where to start....the unusual way to get there, the enticing journey by boat from Ramena, the gooooooorgeous water colour, the endless, steady and strong winds, the well-equipped watersports centre featuring a wide range of the latest wind- and kitesurf toys, the helpful, friendly, ever-smiling staff, the good vibe amongst the crowd that consists almost exclusively of watersports... Let me say that I am not in the habit of reviewing fantastic places- because I am suspicious of the net reviews myself, and also when a place is special, it is often so for me because it is not overpopulated. Great reviews from people have spoiled some of our favourite local haunts!! But if you kitesurf or windsurf (us),... More

A trip to Babaomby Island Lodge is a lifetime experience... From the initial sail boat ride to the actual location, to the magnificent lagoon in front of the lodge, every single detail of Babaomby Island Lodge will be unforgettable. The lodge is remote and the number of accommodations is limited so you have the best kitesurf spot in the world... More

An ideal spot to take in the Mer d'Emeraude if you are not one for doing a package day trip. Get there by 45 min boat ride from Ramena(they organize transfers). Accommodation is in tents on platforms, very comfortable beds and the best pillow experience in our whole trip. shared showers and toilets are spotless. Although pricey the cost includes... More

I stayed here about 3 years ago and kited every day for a fortnight. Waves were incredible, fish were freshly caught every day, tents were a little basic but overall a fantastic experience and amazing value. Not suitable for beginner kite surfers or anyone worried about insects or reptiles. Quite remote. Food is mostly fish and rice every day so... More
