After an overnight stay at the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, our next halt was to be at the Sopa Lodge at the Samburu sanctuary. This reserve is in an area which has been in the grip of a drought and the aridity and the bleakness of the landscape is a stark contrast to the greenery and lushness of the...

The restaurant was nice with a small water hole that had occasional visitors, nothing big. lots of lovely birds that have become tame.good photos! Staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were in need of a refurb , lots of niggley things so easy to correct if the rooms were effectively checked between guests.

Great lodge ran well. Rooms were very nice and it felt like you are sleeping outside. The size of the rooms are fantastic and the layout perfect. Baboons are every so do keep the doors locked. A small watering hole is next to the dinning hall so you can see giraffe or wart hogs or zebra on a morning. Service...

This lodge is set in beautiful grounds with a waterhole where a variety of animals visit to drink. They are the star of this show. Food is very bland. Staff are good but expect tipping for the slightest of tasks. We only had two small cases but it took two people to take them to the room. We could have...

We stayed here with our two girls for two nights as part of the Hakuna Matata safari package. Our lodges were comfortable and we loved the view of the watering hole from our room. The thatched roof design of the lodges and the screened windows allowed a cooling mosquito free breeze at night. The main bar and restaurant area of...

My friend and I stayed here for two nights. When we first arrived the reception staff seemed slightly unorganised however there were quite a large number of people who arrived. The reception staff could have been friendlier however the rest of the staff were great. The rooms were very nice and spacious and the shower worked great. There was also...

Spent two nights here while visiting the national park. The lodge is located within the national park. The rooms are built in mud with thatched roofing, merges nicely with the nature. The dining hall overlooks a waterhole and one could see lot of birds and animals. The rooms are spacious but the shower had no pressure. Food was excellent. Since we...

We stayed here with our two teenage children for two nights. Our lodges were comfortable but both toilets were in need of repair. The design of the lodges meant that there was a cooling mosquito free breeze at night. The main area of the lodge was nicely built and the organic shapes complemented the landscapes. The swimming pool was good...

My wife and myseilf had a wonderful stay in August 2016. The lodge is located inside the Samburu N.P. with a watering hole in front of the lobby where different animals and birds come to drink. During our stay here for 3 nights, we saw Dik dik, Warthog, Gazelle, Guineafowl, Baboon,Reticulated Giraffe. There are 60 rooms arranged in an arc...

It is a good option although the quality of the food and the wifi are not amazing. On the other side, it has a nice pool, only 30 rooms so the attention is good and the room are big, even with 2 double beds. Important note: first night dinner was a closed menu. I tried the vegetarian option and I...
