Overall an excellent choice for seeing this Kenyan reserve. Good food, rooms with mosquito netting. Nice grounds that you could safely walk. Easy to get out into the reserve to look for mammals and birds. Would return again at a time of year when it was not so dry.

My partner and I recently stay in the lodge for two days. We were really thrilled by the tents - the tent was extremely clean, a good size, a massive comfy bed (with a mosquito net) and a great bathroom! We absolutely loved our stay. I liked the evening talks - talking about the local culture and local animals. The...

This is a great place to base your safari. Very relaxing but close to the action in the bush. Great pool overlooking the river with views into the distance. We saw elephants, monkeys, baboons, gazelle & even Maasi cows passing through. Great staff everywhere. Good food in the restaurant. Would have liked to stay longer, but lots to see...

This property is on a river where animals are constantly coming to drink or cool themselves. The pool was warmer than most, and the pool keeper kept your belongings safe from the monkeys that wanted to steal them.

Very pretty place, the watering hole where the animals come and go is perfectly located and there is so much space for every hotel guests to view the sunrise, watch the animals come and go. Food is good, Serena group always delivers good quality food. Service at the restaurant is up to Serena ethos and the staff are always helpful,...

Samburu N.R. is a beautiful safari destination and this lodge is a very nice place to stay. Ours was birthday celebration and the staff was very accommodating and enthusiastic in making it a special one for our son. No vast herds, but plenty of unique animal life, some of which we have not seen at other parks. One of our...

This lodge is situated up on a rock. Literally - to access the lodge you must drive over big boulders and then it feels as if you are on top of the world. The villas are large, spacious and wonderful. Food great, guides knowledgeable. Although there are not herds of animals, we were able to see a lot of action....

Very comfortable hotel with all the modcons and a view of the savannah to boot. Good base for exploring the reserve and sited where you can see some from your room balcony and even the bar and dinning room (if they wander by). The water hole below the bar almost guarantees you'll see something. We saw elephants, an elusive jennet...

This hotel allows for amazing animal viewing. Staff were friendly, food was decent and overall was a great safari experience. Monkeys are jumping around the gardens and over the fence there were crocodiles in the river - thrilling!

“All rooms have great views, but this was a dirtiest on our safari. I'd avoid, if possible”

“Rooms fronting the watering hole are good, it is to the left facing the park. New "tent" rooms are on the right, sparking new and very nice first two are good for wildlife watching.”

“The website advertised free wifi but it was quite sparse and almost never worked. All of the rooms had fabulous views and were large and spacious. Need to remember that even though the rooms are clean, there are still insects, lizards and mice that can easily access rooms.”

“Rooms are grouped in separate lodges: 4 to a floor on two floors. Unless you have trouble with one standard flight of stairs, ask for one on an upper floor for the best views. Staff can carry your bags.”
