What a wonderful time we had - the animals were super fantastic to see in their natural habitat - seeing cheetahs, lions, elephants, numerous types of gazelle/antelope, hyena, zebra, warthogs, hippos, giraffes (my favorite now) and so much more - they are all so very...More

The Porini camps rank with the best safari experiences we’ve had after having been on safari in many African countries. You combine a great experience with the knowledge that you’re supporting the conservancy concept, which increases the area of wildlife reserves and benefits the local...More
Amboseli camp was our first introduction to Africa and certainly did not disappoint. Within 30 mins of landing we saw giraffe, zebra, wildebeest (with calves), gazelle, warthog and then an elusive cheetah!
Our experiences continued with lion, elephant & many bird and smaller mammals.
The Maasai community involvement in Porini Camps means that they have a very special feeling. Many staff have been there for years - it is wonderful to return time after time and see how it has grown in facilities for the animals, rather than the...More
Porini Amboseli Camp was a delight. The Manager and the Masai Staff went the extra mile to ensure that our holiday was extra special. The camp is without fences so animals can be heard nearby during the night. Tents (en suite) are well equipped and...More

Most instances, the animals were incredibly close, at all the Porini Camps (Lion, Ambosolli and Mara) we visited. That was definitely one (of many) great positives of visiting the conservancies, vs the parks. In the conservancies we could drive off road in the jeep, and actually intermingle with the animals. Whereas, in the parks we were confined to staying only on the designated roads and gazing out across the terrain at the animals in a distant. Sorry, not a photo expert so can't help with what zoom to bring. I brought a point and shoot super zoom camera and (for my needs) took really amazing pics. All I can say is we were mere yards from elephants, lions, rhinos, monkeys, baboons, leopard and even had cheetah rub against our vehicle bumper.
