The camp hosts spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro . The tents were comfortable , all our needs were well taken care of. We enjoyed the swimming pool well placed with a view of the waterhole . The team , particularly Richard , Nelson , Morgan and James were professional , courteous and very friendly. I highly recommend Elorai.

We stayed 1 night at this magical place. We never felt so close to nature as in this open park. No electricity after 11 PM and no wifi in the tent enable you really to fully disconnect from your daily stress and to listen to the sounds of nature. The staff at Elerai Camp is very friendly and helpful and provided us with a special attention for our honeymoon.

After a fantastic time in 2018, we were looking forward to staying again. Amazingly, the staff remembered our names and when we were there last. What a very personal and friendly greeting. It is very heartwarming. We stayed in the chalets this time, with balconies facing the waterhole and Amboseli. Sitting on the balcony, we watched zebra, elephants, giraffe etc. walk right past us. It's breathtaking. The first evening, we went for a Bush walk in the conservancy with the Masai at the camp. Again, we were remembered from last time, and the focus this time was on new and different things in comparison to last time. During the walk we saw ostrich, giraffe hyena tracks and evidence of cheetahs. It's truly a wonderful walk with very knowledgeable guides. Breakfast is fruit salad, eggs of your choice, pancakes and toast and more. Always accompanied by fresh juice. Afterwards we were off to Amboseli. Driving to Amboseli takes half a hour, so we chose to take packed lunches with us. There was more than we could eat and very well packed. After the safari, we were back in the camp. Stunning views of Kilimanjaro, fresh tea and coffee and freshly baked biscuits. A perfect setting for a relaxing late afternoon. A good hot shower and for some, Time for a dip in the pool. The supper is A la carte. We were seated under the stars. After supper, we had tea and coffee in front of the fireplace. We love the camp, the conservancy and above all, the staff. The camp is second to none and we look forward to coming again.

We had a fab family trip for 10 people, from grandparents, parents, teenagers and children. Beautiful, remote location with spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The balcony looks down to a watering hole where there were pots of zebra, giraffe and elephant. The staff were so amazing - so attentive and always happy to help. The location is rustic but very clean and comfortable rather than 5 star plush.

We were there to see animals!! This camp provided opportunity to see lots of animals without even leaving the camp. The wild animals even visited the camp, so they provided an escort any time we left our tent at night. The tent was comfortable. The food and service were very good.

This is a stunning camp! We loved staying here, the grounds are beautiful and there is a watering hole that makes seeing all the animals very convenient. Staff were awesome, great customer service, great meals, great ambience, could not rave more about this place.

I can’t say enough amazing things about this place. I worked in the hotel industry for 10 years on 5 continents and have never been in such a unique spot. The camp is beautiful, perched up on the hill with a beautiful landscape view. Maybe 50-75 yards away there is a watering hole where elephants, zebras, giraffes and any other animals around will come and drink. You can enjoy a meal or a drink and animals come to you. The tents themselves are great. They are very spacious, with views of Kilimanjaro. There are local tribe members available all night to guide you once it gets dark so you never need to worry. The food at this camp was unbelievable. Great breakfast options. We always looked forward to dinner time, the chef was incredible. If you want to stay out for lunch to enjoy the game drive, they’ll even have something packed for you when you leave in the morning. Even with everything I wrote above, it’s the people here that left the biggest impression on us. Every single person was so inviting, and there for you anytime you need. The service was unlike anything I have ever seen before. 150% would recommend this place for your safari. Hope to go back one day.

. We stayed 3 nights in Elerai Camp in the course of private Kenya Safari Trip driving 2700km thru various Nationalparks and Conservancies North to South staying at many camps. We remember Elerai as an exceptional experience in location with view to the Kilimanjaro and animals as close as they get. We had tent No. 1 which is the last one before wilderness meaning animals, typical Elefants, Giraffe and Antilope, can get very close. The staff is very professional while very friendly in their natural way and ready to help any time. This accounts really for every single individual. We really can say there was nothing left to be desired.  Basically anywhere in the main building and even during meals and from the pool you havw visibility of animals due to a close waterhole maintained by water from the camp. Particular thanks to two persons from the staff: Solanka (hope I spelled it correctly) who served our meals and drinks and was very observant noticing that my wife had a slight cold. For the next days he by himself made sure he serves her medication, that is strong ginger tea with honey, to help accelerate the cure. We did not even need to ask for it. Also thanks to the already long serving manager Julius who took the time to explain us the technology and concept of the camp which not only supports the local community with workplaces but, since it's built on Maasai land, contributes a share of the profit. Also, everything there is set up in a sustainable way and care for the environment. I can only strongly recommend all readers of this review and travellers to Kenya and elsewhere in Africa : when booking, check out the concepts of the locations you plan to stay and choose preferred such with shared and sustainable concepts like this one over solely commercial locations. You will already help the environment and people just by going there. To close this review: thanks again to the entire team of the Elerai Camp to make our stay what it was: a wonderful piece in a great memory of an exceptional trip.

This camp was amazing, in the middle of a game reserve no fences. We had wild animals walking past our room day and night as well as an amazing watering hole in front of the main building, allowing us to see all the wild Gomes as we ate our food or swam in the infinity pool. We cannot say enough good things about the friendly and extremely helpful staff who could not do enough for you. Including the armed guides that walk you to and from your rooms at night. We Css as by recommend this camp highly enough, and wish we could have stayed longer.

Elerai is a beautiful escape in Amboslie which checks all the boxes on self-sustainability and eco-friendly accommodation. When places have this approach it does come with its own difficulties like electricity breaks etc. but that didn't bother anyone except for the American couple at the table next to me at lunch. The rooms are nice and staff friendly. I would've given Elerai a 5 if it weren't for a few things that seemed only applicable to me as a solo traveler. All game drives or general outings are only done with a minimum of 2 guests so not being one who wants to stay in the room all the time I have to fork out for 2 seats to a cultural village drive. The manager tried to help me with a local conservation drive which he did but I assume his hands are quite tied in that aspect for anything else. Then my ride to the airstrip in Amboseli I had to pay for 2 seats again as a minimum fare. At $50 a seat, my ride totaled me $100 for a 35min drive excluding the $70 park fee to enter the park which brought my quick trip to $170. Being fairly well traveled and a resident of Dubai I am very familiar with high prices but this felt a little wrong and stung a little more than usual then to add salt to the wounds after I was told I had to pay the minimum fee to get me there, when we arrived at the airstrip the driver set a cute little table for the guests he was picking up from the plane which was collecting me. Find it sad when nice places become so money hungry and lose the essence of the bushveld. Before Kenya, I was at a small 3-star lodge where we stayed after climbing Kilimanjaro, and their willingness to find resolves was even more greatly appreciated after visiting Elerai. Would I go back with friends or family, maybe? I will have to think about it. Will I go back on a solo trip... definitely not.
