While not modern, this hotel was a clean and very convenient way for our family to get a few hours sleep between flights. Our flight arrived after 1am and it was so easy: walk out the front entrance of the airport, walk left down the sidewalk/road for 100 meters to a non-descript four story soviet-era building, take the lift up...

I was traveling solo and in need of a few hours sleep between 3am and 8am. So this was obviously the best choice. Previously I have taxied to a nearby hotel, but "nearby" is relative and I didn't feel like traveling 30 minutes to find a slightly better place for just 4 or 5 hours sleep. I ended up checking...

This one is good option for those who have a connecting flight, Indian people would not get the veg food if you intend to get it. Though one may go inside airport for food purpose. Its at a walking distance.

Like many other travelers, I arrived in Almaty one afternoon but needed to take an early flight the day after, so I booked a room at this hotel which I never expected to be so much run down. Just the building's outer aspect was quite terrifying (see attached picture) as if it had been abandoned by the tenants. The hotel...

We arrived in Almaty at 16 and our flight to Frankfurt was at 5 the next morning, so we were suggested by the tourist information kiosk to take a room there. I have been to better hotels, but also to worse. The problem was getting there... just 100 metres from the airport, but we were arriving from Hong Kong and...

It is an old fashioned Communist era hotel. I arrived around 7 am after flying for 36 hours so all I wanted to do was sleep. I left around 1 pm. The big plus is that it is a block or two from the airport. I do not recall it being dirty. The bathroom was down the hall. It was...

I had 12 hours between flights at Almaty, and this was just what I wanted. 12 hours costs 5000 KZT walk-in rate (15 USD). For that you get a wash basin but no en-suite shower. Rooms are clean and reasonably quiet. There are shops and some very local restaurants a few minutes walk into town. It's described as 3 star,...

I felt I was in prison. Everything was unclean and dirty. Show and lift broken. Closet in my room had a busted door. I woke up with bites on my arm. I was ready to run and never return. I am an American and this type of accomodation is filthy and unacceptable and should never be permitted

Cheaper than the city. Worse too. Room relatively clean, but some mosquitos. Wi-Fi works well. No hot water (warned at check in). Mattresses covered in noisy plastic wrap. Lux room required for AC and private shower and private toilet, other cheaper options available. I would try another hotel next time, I believe there is one a few hundred metres away.

Other than the fact that the hot water wasn't working ("for the past two weeks", we were told), this is a quite decent place to avoid being stuck in the airport. It's literally a two to three minute walk from the airport exit. The rooms are decent, especially if you've travelled rough in Central Asia, when they're actually a luxury....
