KH has all of the charm you might expect from a hotel built during Soviet times that hasn't been updated much since: drab interiors, identically-sized, cramped hotel rooms, 8 elevators with only 3 that seemed to work. To be sure, the lobby has some bling, what with its white baby grand piano & opulent chandelier that must impress visiting oligarchs....

Myself and my 3 year old son stopped here for 10 days, for the 2017 universaside event. Hotel was medium priced for hotels in area and Good value for money as. Real fast and a decent wifi was provided throughout hotel. The rooms and furniture are quite dated but fit for purpose! There was a free small digital safe in...

A magnificent building, but a pretty lousy hotel. I stayed one night, in December, in Room 2010. Initially the architecture looks good, but close up, there are deficiencies (plastic sheeting over corridor windows, badly stained carpet). The hotel needs a complete refurbishment, starting with the management and staff. Breakfast was possibly the most uninteresting any where. Not simply predictable, but...

The Hotel is ideally and centrally located. Old style and design, could do with some refurbishing. Room was clean but a bit cold. Wifi was bad in the rooms but good in the lobby. A lavish breakfast but predicable.Need to carry cash as the Hotel takes only cash and it must be paid at the time of checking in. Close...

An old but cozy hotel located in one of best street in Almaty full of bars and restaurants. Good breakfast, clean and friendly staff. There is an exchange in the hotel good rate for change money. I just stayed 2 night there but I wished more 😔

Do not go there! Nightmare. The fact that the hotel hasn't been renovated since 1970 cannot explain why they leave the toilet seat stained with urine. Dirty bathroom, cold, smelly and dirty room, huge cracks on the wall, uncloseable window, screws on carpet, not hidden bathroom pipes, swaying bathroom tub...

I booked a standard room with 2 single beds, upon arrival, was informed the only possibility was the room with a double bed. We gave in as it was late. Very good breakfast, but not so client-focused. I had also requested an airport pickup, which didn't happen, and a room with a balcony, which also did not happen, although both...
