There's something exciting about staying in a hotel so famous it's on the 5000 Tenge note! But having stayed twice the glitches are now getting tiresome. The lifts are terribly slow. 15 minutes wait one time. Housekeeping is hit and miss. Staff are not able to solve simple problems and don't react to customer needs. I was in the breakfast...

I stayed in a superior room which looked as if it was not renovated since the hotel was built in 1977. The hotel is not designed to welcome guests, windows are not safe and do not close properly, it's very cold inside and there is a constant humming noise from air conditioning units outside that don't let you sleep. The...

Spent two nights here. Do not recommend it. Noisy, and smokey. Beds are uncomfortable and lumpy. If you need a good nights rest go somewhere else if you can. The lobby is smokey, the barfly and restaurant is smokey and old. With updates and a policy change it would be a good place. There is a buffet for breakfast. Not...

Not a great experience. Took an hour to get checked in, the hotel was fully booked and even though we'd requested two double rooms next to each other before arrival (family of 5) this hadn't been taken into consideration. We had 3 young kids with us, one a baby, who was very restless and waiting in reception for an hour...

This hotel is a big land mark in the city. And well recommended by the local people. Is it a nice hotel? Well, it is big and (if you want it)clean. The rooms have been taken care of by on interior designer you really don’t want in your house. The shower took ages to give hot water. Even with the...

I stayed in this Soviet-style-yet-renovated-few-years-ago hotel in December 2016. I loved the view from the top floor. It was interesting to have two small rooms instead of one. Some people complain that it needs to be renovated. I guess so, but it wasn't in poor condition. What I loved about it the most was the food. It was good!

KH has all of the charm you might expect from a hotel built during Soviet times that hasn't been updated much since: drab interiors, identically-sized, cramped hotel rooms, 8 elevators with only 3 that seemed to work. To be sure, the lobby has some bling, what with its white baby grand piano & opulent chandelier that must impress visiting oligarchs....

Myself and my 3 year old son stopped here for 10 days, for the 2017 universaside event. Hotel was medium priced for hotels in area and Good value for money as. Real fast and a decent wifi was provided throughout hotel. The rooms and furniture are quite dated but fit for purpose! There was a free small digital safe in...

A magnificent building, but a pretty lousy hotel. I stayed one night, in December, in Room 2010. Initially the architecture looks good, but close up, there are deficiencies (plastic sheeting over corridor windows, badly stained carpet). The hotel needs a complete refurbishment, starting with the management and staff. Breakfast was possibly the most uninteresting any where. Not simply predictable, but...
