Fair plus grade. Walking distance to Sasebo Base. Pricey, and a little dingy. They want you to turn in your key at the front desk when you leave the hotel daily. They misplaced the key twice by putting in wrong slot. This takes 30+ minutes to solve while you wait. Stay at the base BOQ, or Navy Gateway if you... More

The Chisun Grand Sasebo had been recommended to me as an ideal hotel for accommodations while in Sasebo for a project at the Naval facility here. The recommendation was perfect - this hotel is conveniently located in downtown Sasebo within walking distance to the train station. A nearby semi-enclosed shopping arcade is about one block-away and provides a nice walking... More

We stayed in this hotel during last summer vacation as part of our trip to Kyushu. It was very convenient to make reservation on line. The rooms were clean and tidy. We paid a little bit more for two bigger twin rooms. Despite that the hotel was not within walking distance from the train station, it only costed us 1000... More

The staff is extremely helpful, the rooms are bigger than most Japanese hotels, and the restaurant downstairs has delicious, authentic Japanese food. Very close to the shopping ginza. Internet is wired (in the room) not wireless, there is a computer with printer downstairs if needed.

I stay at this hotel often for work at the near by Navy base. The staff is very nice, especially Mika and Takanori Kirino. Always willing to help or provide advice/information. Booking is very easy. Either online at the hotels website or book directly by e-mailing the hotel.

Was stationed in the area for about 2 months, and the Chisun was a great place to get away once in a while. The rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is in a very convenient location. Not much in the way of food right in the hotel (one Indian-themed restaurant) but the staff is friendly and usually a few... More

Chisun Grand is centrally located with lots of restaurant options within walking distance. It is probably a shorter walk to the main gate of the US Naval Base than the accommodations on base. Free unlimited internet (ethernet, not WiFi) is excellent. I called to borrow and iron and ironing board and someone was knocking on my door with them in... More

Have stay in this hotel for 6 times over last few years. Great location within shopping mall and restaurant. Very Clean and big room by Japanese standard. Like the amenties provided in the toilet, very generous, like the handly soap dispenser. Have stay in other hotel. The only dislike is that no wifi in hotel lobby or room. Have to... More

I have been to Sasebo around 12 times now and I always stay at the Chisun Grand. It use to be a Holiday Inn. The Chisun has made many improvements and I always am made to feel very welcome and safe. Every thing you need is with-in walking distance. A huge street mall is one block away and the US... More

This hotel is in a great location ; near the shopping plaza, river, and more. Nice rooms, very clean. The staff is always wonderful and helpful. Free internet access instead of paying by the minute as in some larger hotels. Great place for business or pleasure.

Bring a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter if you have plugs with 3 prongs for you electronics (I attached a picture, but kind of blurry). Also, when making a reservation you must ask them to add the meal plan if you want breakfast included.”
