We stayed for a few days in this better than average hotel. The rooms were immaculate with loads of bathroom extra's however the free wifi kept dropping out. Breakfast, which they tried to cater for both westerners and easterners, was generally cold or at best luke warm with no English breakfast tea. Service was A free shuttle bus to town...

My family of 4 stayed in a family room for 3 nights on the 5th floor which had a commanding view of Mount Sakurajima (photo attached to this review). The family room had 4 beds and was spacious by Japanese hotel standards. On arrival we had an excellent lunch at the tempura restaurant where we were served by a young...

This hotel is situated in top of a hill with a beautiful view of the volcano. It is helpful to have a car to get to the hotel. It's only a 10 minutes drive or so to the large shopping malls and restaurants. There is an outdoor onsen with a spectacular view. Breakfast is good especially the Japanese selection. The...

A pleasantly efficient hotel , good rooms, fine breakfast, and frequent shuttle bus to town (10-15 min). If you want to eat in, the restaurants are very and very good quality, will certainly consider coming back next time in Kagoshima

Kagoshima is lovely, and the Onsen at Shiroyama has a splendid view. Rooms on the other hand are too pricey, too small, too old, too smelly and messy details like the wifi and bizarre (read: ugly) interiors make this a less than ideal place to stay. View of the Sakurajima is fantastic though. Enough said.

It was a surprisingly great risk we took to book this without much research. Simply googled and decided on it a week before our trip. It is at an amazing location with beautiful views. I enjoyed the peace and relaxed atmosphere very much. The onsen was just excellent. This is a gem in Kagoshima. Service excellence at its best!

We booked this hotel for the hot spring with the magnificent view and it was really stunning. However, the hotel is quite average. The room was so tiny it makes Paris budget hotel rooms look spacious. An upgrade to a "normal" room was even more expensive than an average room in Kagoshima. Breakfast was a mixed bag. Okay, the selection...

One year after my first stay, I have been here again at the Shiroyama Kanko. My experience last year is matched this year. This is quite a hotel, and busier than I remember. The floors from number four on down are dedicated to restaurants and amenities. Above the fourth floor are the hotel rooms. I took a Sakurajima view room...

This hotel is located on top of the mountain. It has a great view of Sakurajima and downtown Kagoshima. It's an old hotel and needs to update their amenities however, their service is wonderful. Their onsen is very nice and relaxing. There aren't too many options for eating outside of the hotel within walking distance. However, the hotel has many...

I stayed one night at single lady room here. The service is great. Once I got off taxi, their staff helped to pick my luggage. Then they picked me to check-in counter and walked along with me to the room. The room is really good and full of special facilities for lady such as massage chair, essential oils light etc....
