Our stay was very relaxing. The room was great (although they didn't have any single bed rooms for two people, so we just pushed our two beds together to make a mega bed), and having the private onsen in our room with the beautiful lake view was fantastic. Breakfast buffet (Japanese style, with a few western selections) was also very...

One of the best onsen hotels I've ever stayed in. Brilliant hospitality and the nicest public indoor + outdoor onsen I've ever tried. Great setting which puts you at ease once you put your yukata on. Maybe it was low season when I arrived but me and my two boys were pretty much the only ones at the onsen for...

Enjoyed a Japanese Style Tatami room for a family of 5. Not overly expensive and the Onsen were well kept and clean. Off the beaten track but you save money as a result. Free shuttle bus from the local rail station.

Booked rooms with private onsen and really enjoyed our one night out here. The dinner was actually the best I had all trip, fresh live lobster and Kobe beef Shabu to go along with traditional kaiseki meal. The hotel is pretty big, when you walk in it looks like a traditional Japanese onsen hotel, the rooms were tatami, but they...

If you’re visiting Japan, you really ought to take the opportunity to go to an onsen, and Biwako Ryokusuitei is a great option. I’ve been to literally dozens of onsen places all over Japan, and Biwako Ryokusuitei is one of my favorites. In addition to the onsen experience itself, what I like most is the great views of the lake...

Stayed in a lakeview room with private onsen in the balcony. The room is spacious, equivalent to an one bedroom apartment. Excellent Japanese style interior. The separate gender public onsen is also well worth a visit. The hotel offers pick up and drop off from a nearby train station. We were given a tour of the facilities by Toshi Kando...

We stay for one night. My wife and my son really enjoyed the hotel and location (Different to the city). Excellent service. Great Japanese style breakfast. Only thing is we need to check out at 10am. Otherwise, I would highly recommend the hotel to others.

Ogotoonsen is a place just 20mins by JR from JR Kyoto station. So if you want to enjoy a quite place with private onsen with good price (not expensive as Hokkaido), here is really good choice. Room is spacious with a very nice Biwako lake view. If good weather, you can enjoy a nice sunrise view from your own room....

From Kyoto Station, using Biwako line( JR ), after six stations , will reach Ogotoonsen Station. In the station, on your right, you will see the Biwako Ryokusutei counter, show them your booking, they will arrange transport to send you to the hotel. We booked a corner unit at fifth floor, the view is perfect. Facing a big lake and...

The hotel is definitely not welcoming to foreigners- Service is chilly, no language is spoken other than Japanese by any of the staff, internet connection does not work and no one seems to understand why you need it. Breakfast is ridiculous, even for Japanese clients- lots of fish, some soup, jam and stale bread , one cereal and a very...
