Service was excellent. A staff introduced the way to the room, the way to wear yukata and use the hotspring, and even helped to plan a sightseeing route in our room. There was a hot spring bath to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. The room with 2 meals is not cheap but I guess it is about...

Very high quality room and service. We stayed in a traditional twin room which had all the amenities you should need. The breakfast was never ending and was a surprise. It is pricey but you get what you pay for.

I really can recommend this type hotel like an expirience from our travel in Japan.I know that such style is done "for tourist", but very pleasant. The staff of reception was very polite and helpful and good speaking english. You can use your own yukata (homedress - its prepared in every room) over the whole hotel. And every evening some...

My husband and I took a taxi from the train station to the Ryokan. On our way we saw so many deer! When we arrived at the Ryokan, it looked cosy, clean and beautiful. The hospitality of staff of course is unparallel! We were promptly taken to our spacious Japanese style room. The door opened to a little landing with...

We stayed in the Wakasa Annex, which is the annex part of this hotel. It is hard to say how great this place was in words - the staff made it amazing for us! The room is beautiful, traditional Japanese. It with a modern edge - very beautiful and very comfortable. The beds laid out are superbly comfy, it is...

The price is very reasonable including one stay and two meals and free hot spring. The service is terrific. They are so considerate and care about you in many ways, such as recommend perfect trip plan, arrange timely dinner/breakfast, and print photos we took as a gift. It's a full of surprise stay. I will definitely go back again!

This place was great - the location was perfect just a short walk from todai-ji, the staff were extremely helpful, there was easy access to some great restaurants and shopping, and, perhaps most importantly, the rooms and onsen were fantastic. I'd highly recommend staying here.

New Wakasa may seem smaller than the other ryokan I have been to, but it is big in service. It's a wonderful place for guests that are new to Japanese hot springs, as they provide helpful English tips on how to wear the yukata and use the facilities. All the staff are attentive and prompt in their service. Thank you...

I stayed in for just one night while visiting Nara. It is an onsen hotel. The rooms are tradition Japanese style with sliding doors and tatami mat floors. Deliciously comfortable futon mattress beds are made up for you by the staff for night time. The overall ambience is relaxation and calm. The onsen is beautiful and you can opt for...

Stayed here on Dec 28/29 2014. This is not a ryokan. I'll state the not-so-pleasant points first: 1) Dec 29 - Tried to asking a staff a question in English, but he replied he didn't understand and then ignored me. I was expecting he would at least get someone to help 2) Dec 29 - During dinner we had to...
