It is an awesome find! World class and Most amazing pearl onsen! It is luxurious and pampering. Wonderful breakfast set that is elaborate, delicious and makes you feel so well nourished especially after a relaxing onsen bath. Well bodied coffee served from 7:30-10:30am daily is a treat! The views are breathtaking! See these pictures to be blown away! We will be back!
The best things about this stay was the onsen with pearl shell and the breakfast and dinner sets. The room we stayed in was a Japanese style room with a pleasant Harbour view and the food was of a high quality. The hotel was showing its age and we were aware that there were better buildings on the same grounds but overall this was a pleasant stay.
Great Teppan-yaki dinner, pairing wine flight, healthy Japanese style breakfast, Pearl Bath (Onsen) and clean & quiet twin room - those costs about JPY 40000/person (when stay two people/room) - USD 400/person including tax/service!! Strongly recommend after visiting ISE shrine.
If you are fan of luxurious pearl brand or “Mikimoto” and onsen, you would give your heart to this hotel “Toba International Hotel Shiojitei”. There is shuttle Bus service available for you for free from Toba station to hotel. The last time is around 06:00 PM. Special thing of this hotel everyone mentioned is “Pearl onsen” which has Mikimoto pearl in this onsen to make your skin so gorgeous. There is cold herbal tea for free after onsen and massage machine too. Moreover, you would enjoy premium dinner served by cool staffs here and morning breakfast special for you as they will serve you at same room where you see view outside. There is vending machine selling popular fresh milk in Mie too. Don’t miss this and I wish to have a chance once day to try Mikimoto Spa as it’s fully booking. Special food : Mie Lobster Special onsen : Mikimoto Pearl onsen Amenity : Mikimoto brands Tourist attraction : Mikimoto museum, Toba aquarium (nearby), Ise shrine (Iseshi station)…
Had the most lovely stay at Shiojitei Int'l. We stayed in the hybrid traditional/western room as my elderly mother is unable to get up from the floor. Our plan included a most amazing kaiseki dinner with Ise lobster and breakfast. The onsen was so refreshing and the water really shimmers with the pink pearl powder. The rooms also had Mikimoto bath products for guests to use. Getting to Toba station was convenient with the hotel bus every 1/2 hour. It's a pity we were pressed for time as it would have been nice to stay another night. The staff were also very attentive and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
It's an ryokan in Toba. Good location. Not far fro. Station. Good service. Few of them can speak not fluent English. Room with nice view. We paid for the best meal included lobster, abalone and beef. I stayed at a Japanese room which is big and comfortable. Anyway, not a bad choice with the money I paid.
Of all the places I stayed, this was the place that made my trip & I felt I'd touched real Japan away from the Westernised tourist trail. I came here as I wanted to visit the Grand Shinto shrines at Ise which are easily reachable with a short train ride. The hotel runs a bus shuttle to/from Toba railway station about every half an hour. The staff were always very friendly & did their very best to help despite some language barriers on occasions. It was an easy check in and the explanation of the room & hotel facilities/protocols very helpful. They are Japanese rooms, raised floor - no shoes beyond the entrance area, slippers provided for room & another for bathroom amenities. Western table & chairs in the window to take in the garden and small bay view. Yakata & Haori (I hope I've got that right) are provided for use around hotel and going to Onsen baths. There is nothing better than getting up in the morning and going down for a shower, then soak in the pearl enriched Onsen baths at the hotel. If the onsen baths aren't enough to tempt the real stand out feature of this hotel is the traditional Japanese restaurant presided over by chef Shigeru Shimada. You will not eat finer Japanese food whether for breakfast or dinner any where on your trip than here, both meals had 9 dishes. Being by the sea most focus on fish, shell fish & crustaceans although there was always one meat dish. It is a phenomenal experience for any well seasoned world traveller, an absolute must. It's the only hotel I've ever stayed in to be surprised breakfast was included as it is a gourmet triumph. There is also a very useful gift shop from nick knacks & food stuff to Mikimoto pearl jewellery and complimentary tea/coffee at regular times in the hotel lounge. After several days stay, the staff waving us good bye on the shuttle bus was a surprisingly moving moment as I really did not want to leave back into a busy faceless world.…
We loved the Pearl Aurora onsen bath. During the evenings you can see the luminescence of the pearl powder in the bath and our skin really felt pampered after our soak. The rooms were comfortable and faced the lake. Meals were tasty and beautifully presented.
This is already my second visit to Shiojitei. It provides excellent food and service, especially the Ise lobster sashimi,Japanese beef steak and abalone . Enjoying the open air pearl onsen is an relaxing experience and will make your skin smooth!
We stayed for two nights and we absolutely love it! Tidy, clean, comfortable and spacious room. Staff are very nice, always with a smile and very happy to help. The breakfast and dinner were amazing. The hotel also offers complimentary parking. The hotel partner with the famous pearl brand MIKIMOTO and create the pearl onsen which I really enjoyed. As we stayed in summer, besides the pink pearl onsen they also have a "blue" pearl onsen.
