Our stay at Todaya was wonderful in every way and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff responded to our every request- always one step ahead to make our stay with twin four-month-old babies comfortable. The staff were friendly and responsive. Rooms were lovely. Food delicious. Price fantastic. Onsen fabulous- both the free private onsens and the large shared onsens. Don’t think any longer! Book it!
I spent two wonderful nights here while on a group tour. For Japanese rooms, mine was spacious. The breakfast and dinner buffets were the largest I have ever seen. The food was just great! Even if you tried, you could not walk away hungry. I had a kickass massage. The hot baths were so good, I went back three times for a total of four soaks in two days. The staff was very attentive. The locale at the local port was ideal to hop on and off the ship taxis which went from island to island.
The front of this hotel/resort is rather plain. I was very surprised upon entering the lobby where I was greeted by some of the best staff I've ever met. I later found out that the beautiful and gracious woman who owns the hotel was one of the staff greeting us upon our arrival. The hotel will reach 160 yrs. old next year. The rooms are well-appointed. There is a container of ice water and a hot pot for tea, refiled everyday. A refrigerator, good wi-fi and breakfast, and a really large souvenir shop that also has snacks and wine. A kimono and slippers are in your room and you can wear them anywhere in the hotel. There are hot springs with either private or communal baths and a swimming pool. My only problem was worrying about slipping on the stones on the way to the baths. I actually had an adjustable reading light next to the bed! Best thing about the hotel is definitely the wonderful staff.…
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and I was very satisfied! The hotel staff were very friendly and ready to help you with anything. The decor was a little bit outdated but the Japanese styled room was very clean, spacious and comfortable! Also the outside baths, and private baths were so worth it! Every chance that I had I went there, and those were completely free! The food served was great and fresh! I really enjoyed the time I spent here!
Todaya is a sprawl of buildings and facilities with an excellent staff. It suffers a bit from being outdated, yet our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Not walking in your shoes on the tatami floors takes some getting used to, but several pairs of “appropriate “ shoes or slippers were provided for use around the buildings. The breakfast had almost too many things, a huge mixture of Japanese food mixed in with cereal, French toast, and croissants. It was complicated to get a cocktail, so we settled for a beer before dinner.
Hotel is a little outdated but clean and comfortable. What makes this hotel stands out from the rest is the excellent staff. Every staff -from the doorman, driver, front counter, restaurants; they are so helpful, sincere, and attentive. We stayed in the Japanese/Western style room in the south wing, facing the harbor. Room size is adequate, guests have to show the room key to be issued vouchers for dinner and breakfast. There is a luggage forwarding service as well. Although this was not my first choice hotel when I was browsing for Toba hotels, the other was fully booked.; but is now my first choice if I should ever go back to Toba again.
We stayed one night at this hotel. Rooms were spacious with good room service. The buffet dinner included a wide variety of Matsuzaka beef, sashimi, grilled scallops among others. The hotel offers a few different choices of hot spring, but relatively small in size.
The staff is professional. One of the managers speaks English well. The ladies serving our dinner are nice and helpful. Breakfast is in buffet basis which the quality is high. The room is comfortable and spacious. There are several onsens to choose from and some of them are in 24-hr service. The hotel is so big. There are some conference rooms, well-decorated exhibition areas and premium dining rooms which are worth to take a look.
We stayed at this large hotel type ryokan on a coach tour to Ise Jinguu and the Kumano pilgrimage route. They have the main building and an annex called Kishuntei (meaning delightful spring) which is where we stayed. The rooms are spacious and in the traditional ryokan style. We were surprised how well trained the staff are, ready to help in any way. The food served is comprised of a large selection of local delicacies. The staff saw us off as our coach left the hotel and the staff kept waving till we went out of sight. The hotel is close to the JR station and you can enjoy shopping at the gift shops in front of the station. Recommended.
We lived in the Todaya onsen hotel located in Toba, and had an excellent experience in terms of living environment, service, ambience and value. Our booked room was really big, 103 square meters which features a large living tatami room, a corner resting area, a smaller living tatami room, a bar with mini kitchen, a toilet and a bathroom with shower and bathtub. The beds were quite comfy, and we had a good quality sleep despite the birds charming sound heard throughout the night in our room. The onsens in the hotel are quite comfortable and are different in terms of design, making our experience more varied which is good. The service in the hotel was excellent. Staff proactively escorted us into our room with our luggage sent directly after our arrival. They even helped us organise our slippers and cleaned them with detergent so that our slippers are clean even though if it is mixed up. The meals are served in the 天地海 restaurant, a buffet dinner and breakfast. The food was really good, and so as the service provided （see my other review about the restaurant）. The price for 1 night was around 6100 HKD, rather reasonable and cheap as of the excellent quality elements given throughout our stay. Overall, it was an excellent stay, the staff really helped enhanced our experience in this hotel. This hotel deserves a 5 star tripadvisor review. Well Done!!!…
