Such a lovely family i had met for homestay. Mr and Mrs are very helpful and kindness. They try to help us in everything they can do their best. Nice weather in Nikko. A lot of attractive places to see and go. Last word to say I really love this place.

We stayed in Rindou-no-ie for 3 nights during my recent and second time visit to Nikko. My husband and I had stayed here when we first visited Nikko's UNESCO shrines in Jan., 2010. We had a very pleasant experience with the owners. So, this time I contacted Mr. and Mrs. Ofusa(Shizuo and Keiko), owners of this minshuku 3 months earlier,...

We stayed at Rindou no Ie earlier this month, for 4 nights, and I cannot fault it. Keiko-san and Sizuo-san treated us as family. Booking was made about 9months in advance (We really wanted to stay) through email exchanges. It was raining hard when we arrived at Nikko, fresh off the train from Tokyo and a 12 hour flight so...

We arrived at Nikko late and unexpectedly, so we arrived at Rindou-no-ie without a reservation. The warm welcome from Mr. and Ms. Ohfusa (Sizou-san adn Keiko-san) made us feel like at home from the very first minute. We took a shower and then Mr. Ohfuse bring us to have dinner. Once we finished he was at the door ready to...

For solo travellers, a ryokan with really low prices. Everything is perfect, very welcoming, quiet. He comes to pick you up, or only your luggage at the train station, although it is only a short walking distance (the temples are a bit further ...). My first 3 accomodations in Japan were all between 3000 and 4000 yen, and all excellent...

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our train got in well after dark and we (stupidly) did not make any arrival arrangements in advance, so we set off with our bags and made the 20 minute trek across the river and up the hill to Rindou No Ie in the dark. The proprietors were very welcoming, but disappointed and apologetic...

Loved this place, they are such helpful and nice people. We arrived early which flustered them (sorry again) but they adapted fast to let us check and get a wash etc as had just landed Tokyo that day, lent us umbrellas in case of rain and made us a quick chilled tea before we went out sight seeing. Definitely have...

Its our first (my friend and I) night in Nikko and Mr Ohfusa (大房靜雄) treated as really well. First of all, we checked in late, at around 11:30pm, and he not only stayed awake to wait for our arrival, but also extend the opening hours of the bathroom (traditional Japanese style, very cozy, consists of a large a bathtub with...

We stayed two nights. Shizuou picked us up from the station and took us to his hotel. We were early so we went out to see the shrines. We got back late to find he had carried our bags to our room, then drove us to town and picked us up from our restaurant. The hotel is about 10 min...

I stayed for one night, and it was a pleasant stay, i recommend everyone to stay here! The hosts are very welcoming and make you feel at home instantly. Location wise, Shizuo-san offers transportation to and fro the train station. Rooms are very big, with a futon specially prepared for you. There aren't many rooms in the building - maybe...
