I love checking out Japanese Ryokans and Honke Bankyu did not disappoint at all. Location wise, it is a little far out from Nikko, and you got to take a combination of buses and trains to get there and the entire commute can be very long. But I do think it is worth the

My friend and I stayed there for 1 night in mid Nov. When we drove there around 16:30, there was someone come out from the main entrance to greet us and led us to the parking space. Our room was just perfect as described at their website. We had our dinner in the reserved

The history of Honke Banku drew us to stay. We are travelling around Japan for seven weeks, mainly staying in beautiful locations and traditional properties. There was much we enjoyed about this ryokan - the history, the view, the suspension bridge, two futons stacked together

Friendly staff, comfortable bedding, excellent hot springs, and out-of-this-world traditional Japanese luxury dining (Kaiseki Ryori), with a rustic twist. It’s all here. The main building is hundreds of years old, and the story of the place is fascinating. It’s quite far

To get to "Honke Bankyu", you can use Tohbu NIkkou Line from Tohbu Asakusa station to Tohbu Kinugawa station via Tohbu Imaichi station or from JR Shinjuku station direct to Tohbu Kinugawa station. It will take about two hours on board. And from Tohbu kinugasa station to the inn ,fiffty minutes by Tohbu bus line. Room charge usually include a evening meal and breakfast. Bon voyage

You can visit Edo Wonderful down at Kinugawa if you like to see some ninja actions or even dress like one (Also dresses for ladies) ! There's some waterfalls and scenic drive along the route to the Ryokan as well which is very pretty. For me, I would relax as much time as possible within the hotel which is such a lovely place!
