My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and it was easily one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. We reserved a private onsen once we arrived, which was lovely. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely fantastic. Great staff. Highly recommend for a memorable trip!

We stayed here for two nights on a standard Japanese room. Room is great, loved the tatami floor and the futon. We really enjoyed the 'Kaiseki' breakfast and dinner provided by the ryokan. And the most unforgettable is the onsen experience. I personally tried all options - privat

This hotel doesn't actually have a view of anything to be honest. So the hotel is just a name.

Location
I opted for this hotel because it's kinda convenient for me to depart to Kawaguchiko the next day as there is a direct bus to Gotemba. If you're not going to Kawaguchiko this

Picked this ryokan b/c of good reviews and b/c they can accommodate vegetarians. We took the local train from Gora station and it took about 35 minutes. The bus stop was just a very short walk from the hotel. The room is traditional with comfortable futon type mattresses on the f

Thank you for your visit. It's our pleasure to let you feel satisfied with our rooms , meal and hot springs. If the White Onsen Nigoriyu that could be the page of your memory, we will feel proud of it. The red leaves, Sakura and verdancy are even more unique than other places. We would like to invite you to enjoy the scenery of Hakone for each season. Mount view Hakone staff look forward to your next visit

Has anyone arrived 6pm for check in and unable to book a private onsen on the same day? Out of curiosity as I want to do everything else before arriving at the hotel... It doesn't really make sense to go to the hotel to book first then back to Hakone again...
unsure but woth calling ahead as they speak English and are very willing to help with anything you may need. only reason I can think of is that you must check in first but maybe not. I'd ask also we arrived before 1pm and they gave us a map with the area and the restaurants. we had lunch and a walk around and it was check in time.

What is the best way from shinjuku to mount view? Then when checking out what is the best way to get to kyoto? Thanks
We bought the Hakone "Free" Pass at Odawara station and it gives you unlimited rides on the bus, in addition to the boat on Lake Ashi and the cable airway to Owakudani. We took the T line bus from in front of the Mount View hotel back to Odawara station and from there you can take the bullet train to Kyoto. The bus is a small local bus, though, so it makes a lot of stops and there's not much room for big luggage.

How do you reserve a room with a private onsen?
The Onsen can be reserved when you check in. The onsen is not actually in your room, but you reserve a time slot for a 1-hour soak with you and your family. Very nice and relaxing as the onsen is in a bamboo forest with privacy screens.

I'd like to go to owakudani from the hotel. What's the best way to get there and back? Can i buy a bus/train pass from the hotel? If not, where can i buy the pass? Or does the hotel have tour to owakudani? Thank you,

I recommend you to purchase Hakone free pass at Odawara or Yumoto. You can ride a bus, train, ropeway, ship that climbs Hakone. Please try searching Hakone mountain free pass.
