The staff were really friendly and although there was a language barrier with all but the front desk staff due to my minimal Japanese they were really helpful and attentive. Check in is between 3 and 5 pm which unfortunately limited our exploration of the Hakone national park due to the way our tour was organised and we were rushing...

A lovely place in a lovely aerea run by lovely people. The staff are super friendly and although their English is not perfect it actually adds to the charm of the experience. The lady who looked after us was so cute I wanted to take her home with us! The tradional Japanese dinner was probably the best meal I had...

We booked this place to experience a traditional ryokan. The place has an onsen which we took advantage of at night it was quiet which made it easy since you have to be naked in there! We had our own toilet but no showers on our floor. The ryokan is quite old... we did not like it, the food was...

Very much enjoyed our one night stay here! The service was amazing and it was great to experience a true Japanese Ryokan. Dinner served in the room was very traditional but was enjoyed. Lots of variety and plenty of food. Breakfast was served in a different room and was similar to dinner, being fish etc. unfortunately is was a little...

Yuugiriso is a lovely traditional ryokan. It was a little dated, but nothing to complain about. Dinner was served in our room while breakfast was at the eating hall. Food was amazing. We were served sakura rice for dinner as we visited the ryokan during sakura season. What a nice surprise! Staff was so polite and helpful, especially the lady...

We've been travelling around Japan staying in modern hotels so wanted to experience something more in line with traditional Japan. This was certainly a good starting point. The single sex Onsens were relaxing, and for dinner we opted for the traditional Japanese menu in our room. It was very good, and definitely an experience. The staff were also very lovely....

This accommodation was a wonderful opportunity for us to experience traditional Japanese customs. The rooms were beautiful, the staff exceptionally helpful, the food was a tasting adventure and the hot springs an experience we will never forget. Dressing up in beautiful clothes was also enjoyed by all!

This hotel was amazing. Staff was very helpful and oh so polite. We didn't do meal plan so can't say much about that, but the Onsen was fun (keep in mind it's a traditional one)! Also the town was nice and had a pretty lake. I also advice to get the Hakone free pass. Makes life so much easier. The...

Three of us stayed here for one night in March. The area is lovely for a break from the bustle of Tokyo & a ryokan is a must in order to experience traditional Japanese culture. In Yugiriso you eat meals in your room, served by a personal waitress (unsure of the correct term). You dress in Japanese robes and shoes...
