I chose to stay at the Mercure Narita, because I was connecting to Kyoto on the next day and the hotel is near the Narita International airport and it offers free transportation. The hotel is very well located, just a few steps away of the...More
Whilst in a very convenient location everything about this hotel is not nice! The hotel had a disgusting smell and the room was even worse... A very dirty room with secondhand slippers and PJs provided... I wiped my feet as I left the reception area!

Bit of a late 70s time warp; clean, functional but obviously dated. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing fantastic; there are better hotels in the area. Stay here if you need is hotel in Narita and it comes in at a decent price, otherwise stay...More

You can contact the hotel before you travel for the schedule or upon arrival if you go to the Visitor Information desk in the Arrivals terminal, they also have the schedule. The bus is very easy to find outside the airport terminal, you will have no problem finding it, they will also tell you at the Visitor information desk where to meet the bus. It will definitely be on time so be there a few minutes before the time it is due to leave. I believe the bus runs every 1.5 - 2 hours from the airport to the hotel. It is not customary to tip in Japan so I would say no to the tip. I would highly recommend purchasing a JR Rail Pass before you travel to Japan. Enjoy all that Japan has to offer - it is truly incredible.
