The hotel is centrally located with line of sight from the railway station and an easy walk to get there. The room was small, but clean. The bathroom was tiny. The plumbing system was set up so you could not use both the bath/shower and basin together. The shower was located within the bath which was both small in size and deep. The plastic curtain was much too small leading to flooding of the area if not careful. The WIFI was ok. , the air con not so good, being centrally controlled and resulting in a very hot room. The window had to be opened to get it to a more comfortable temperature, however this resulted in noisy street noise and very cold external air (1 degree C). The hotel contained an Onsen (hot mineral bath) included in the tariff. It was nothing particularly special being just a hot pool with a high salt content. The breakfast was adequate, free coffee was available in the foyer. The bed mattress was extremely hard. Staff were very helpful.

Very basic hotel with a prime location next to the station. The rooms are small so the hotel is best suited for short-term stays, but he location is good. The top floor features a sento bath. If you stay at this hote, I recommend you cross the street and visit the morning market for a genuine Japanese experience.

The location of the hotel was excellent! In front of the bus center and Hakodate Sta. which makes it very accessible if you're traveling around the city. The room was a bit cramped but should be OK if you pack light. They have everything I need - a mini fridge, kettle, toiletries, and some complimentary tea. The room and toilet was clean. At the ground floor, there's some vending machines for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and a microwave, too. T

It is very close to the station and the single room had all the facilities I wanted, including fridge. It was a little cramped in both bedroom and bathroom, but acceptable. No TV in other than Japanese language and few English signs. The breakfast buffet had the usual Japanese and Western dishes and some was signed in English.

Route Inn Grantia Hakodate Station excellent location, next to JR Hakodate, located right in front Hakodate Bus Station and Hakodate Asaichi also around the corner quite near too. Check in process was smooth for my 2 night stay. The kind lady tried her very best to communicate with me in English. I was gave 6 tokens as I opt in "Eco De Route Inn" No house keeping option but replenish with fresh towels, tea bags and even toiletries. With those tokens you can get 6 bottles/cans drinks from the lobby vending machine. There is a microwave, ice dispenser and nice brewery coffee machine at the lobby too. Assigned with a corner Twin room 1126. Bright room as there are 2 side of windows, room equipped with all necessary amenities. Love the breakfast. Book directly from Route Inn website, entitled for free daily breakfast. Spacious breakfast restaurant, lots of different delicious Japanese dishes, fresh salads etc they even serve fresh sashimi during breakfast. Have a great stay with Route Inn Grantia Hakodate Station. Definitely will return again!

Hotel check in is at 3 pm . We arrived at 2 pm n was told that room is not ready as they are doing cleaning. Waited at lobby, indeed key was given at exactly at 3.05 pm. We found that hotel was abit rigid with this strict check in timing as compare to other Japan hotel that we stay . Room was an average size , typical Japanese room side . Not much space for luggage opening . Have to put on the bed. The only pro was the prominent location of the hotel . Just beside JR Hakodate station. Nearby to the tram station also. Morning market was just beside the Four point Sheraton hotel. Hotel provides Osen at level 13.

Stay – 9 – 14 April 2019 Location. It is in Hakodate, so if you are coming via Shinkansen, make sure you buy a through ticket, meaning, you don’t need to buy a ticket at Shin Hakodate. There is only one exit at JR Hakodate Station and just walk on the left side and passing a pedestrian crossing is the hotel. Like they say, it is a brown building. The check in/check out. A breeze, especially during check out, which is done in less than 5 seconds. The room Pretty small and with a small cupboard, but decent by Japanese standard. While, I was there there was a 3.3 magnitude earthquake somewhere in the sea, that is east of Aomori. Good experience, as the room shake a bit, but certainly no danger at all. Like all Japanese hotel, they use liquid soap and waslet toilet. Breakfast Good fresh food that do have some changes from day to day. Unique system They give you a small stack of token, from which you choose the drinks in lieu of the usual 2 complimentary mineral water bottle. To make it better, you can actually choose coffee, which I did and I find it interesting. People They have good staff like Tadamasa Saito, who advise me that I should take the Shinkansen at Ueno, rather than Tokyo Station or else, the time is compressed. I, also note his advise on heat pack, which I did buy. During my stay, the chamber maids as well as the front desk were good people that does the job well. The plus point Staffs were knowledgeable and I saw all the tourist places that I wanted. This is augmented by the bus station staff that gave clear instruction to the destination. Will I recommend it to you and your family with kids - Yes

I stayed at this hotel with my wife in a twin room. This hotel is located in front of the JR Hakodate station, one min walk. The room was clean, and we enjoyed Onsen ( hot spring) at the top floor. Amazingly they served sea food such as Sashimi ( raw fish) for breakfast. We could enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel fee is reasonable and I strongly recommend this hotel for business or holidays.

This is my first experience with Route Inn in Japan. The hotel is located right next to the Hakodate JR Main Train Station with a bus terminal right in front as well as a Hakodate Tram (streetcar) station across the street. It's also right next to the Hakodate morning market which is a great place to enjoy some fresh (but not cheap) seafood. Check-in was fast and the staff speaks decent English. The rooms are Japanese-sized, meaning a bit small but everything was like new and comfortable. I was surprised that the pillow was actually SOFT! This is a big complaint with most Japanese hotels; hard pillows. Top floor hot spring bath was awesome! Western breakfast offerings meager and the scrambled eggs were from powder. Got get fresh seafood for breakfast!

First off have to say the staff here is great! Very helpful with everything, especially with shipping our luggage off to the next hotel. Also very helpful with getting directions and suggestions for local sites. Rooms were rather small... but it's what I come to expect with hotels in Japan. Breakfast was good with a good selection of food. Would definitely stay here again.
