No other way to describe it , other than to say their pillows had a heavy pebble, bean bag-like filling which made them impossible to use. We've never experienced anything like this before. We didn't bother asking for a replacement which room information noted was available if you wished a "softer pillow." They had a good list of nearby restaurants.... More

We stayed there for one night on our way from Fukuoka to Osaka by way of Shinkansen so our grand kid could have a break from the train trip. The hotel was only a 5 minutes walk from the JR station with many restaurants nearby. The hotel was well kept and staff were family, helpful and very polite. The famous... More

We stayed here just one night, and were glad we did - until we went to breakfast. Nicely located between the station and the castle/Koraku Garden area, in an area with plenty of restaurants. Staff were very pleasant at check in. Room full of thoughtful touches, like the hand-drawn map of local attracrions recommended by the staff. Very user-friendly for... More

Lovely hotel in a great location, near the station. There's a tram stop right outside that takes you to the Korakuen gardens if you want to save your legs for sightseeing! We had a corner room, 1215, which was incredibly spacious with a lovely big curved window and great view. Also separate bathroom and toilet. Definitely worth a bit extra.... More

The Kuraku is a pleasing hotel with a great location: just 3 blocks from the station and in walking distance to Okayama's garden-park and adjacent castle. Our room was handsome and spacious, with western beds and every amenity. Every amenity, that is, except a safe; valuables may be left at the front desk. (That it didn't occur to management to... We very much enjoyed staying here. Excellent location near the train station. Walkable to the Korakuen gardens. The rooms are well appointed and the staff was wonderful. Very quiet - a delightful stay.

I read a review below that was only 3/5 & they said they could have moved rooms but had too much stuff. I mean, come on! That's not the hotel's fault! That compelled me to write my review. This is a fabulous hotel. Yes my hair dryer wasn't the strongest but that isn't worth dropping a star! The reception staff... More

We expected this hotel to be a nice one, since it's rated as one of the top hotels in Okayama. But, sadly, we didn't very much enjoy our stay. Having spent three nights in this hotel, we were much annoyed by the dripping sound in the bathroom. We tried to find out where the dripping sound came from, but in... More

Modern and super comfortable hotel with extraordinary large rooms - considering one is in Japan. Pitty I stayed there only for one night. Easy walk from station and to castle and Koraku-en garden. Absolutely nothing to complain!
