Beautiful hotel where everything is made for guests to relax. When you first come into the room, of course it seems small. And even more stressful is the absence of any closets or drawers or clothing shelves. Yeah, you basically have nowhere to put your clothes. The maximum there are is 2 hangers. But apparently it's specific to Japan. You don't take a lot of stuff and of necessity just wash it. By the way, the hotel has the possibility to wash your belongings free of charge, the only thing you will have to pay for is a dryer (100 yen for 20 minutes). The highlight of the hotel is Onsen on top of the building and everything in it. And there is everything there - all possible means for self-care, two onsen with hot water (one inside, one outside), a sauna with high temperature and a bath with cold water. There are also self-care facilities in the changing area, again including face coverings and a hairdryer. After Onsen, you can enjoy yourself with either free drinks (morning) or free ice cream (afternoon and evening). And every evening (from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) you can eat a bowl of hot soup in the ground floor restaurant, also free of charge. You arrive at the hotel and everything is ready for your holiday. If I go to Kofu again, I'll try to settle here.

I had to use it the next day and used it the night before.
I would choose an inn with a hot spring.
After all, it is better to have a large bath and soak in the hot spring.
Although there is some distance from Kofu Station, I didn’t have a hard time walking around the city.
Although the location is like a shopping street, the restaurants are unevenly distributed and there are many smaller ones, so it takes a bit of time to find them.
If you don't focus on hot springs, I think it's easier to stay in front of the station.
There is a night-singing soba service, but I've never eaten it myself.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 kids for 5 nights in early April ie past few days.
We stayed in a Japanese tatami room which is big enough for all of us. The hotel rate included breakfast and usage of indoor and outdoor hot spring bath. The buffet breakfast was really good and they also served Houtou (a local popular noodle dish)! We also enjoyed soaking in the outdoor hot spring bath with the moon above us.

Hotel staff speak very little English but we managed to communicate with them somehow. The washing machines are free for us to use although we need to pay 100yen for using the dryer. The hotel also serve noodle for supper which is free for hotel guests.

The hotel is not exactly near the Kofu station so I would recommend taking taxi if one has a lot of luggage. Walking to and fro the Kofu station (about 15minutes) is a breeze without luggage with many shops and restaurants to explore along the way. The Okajima shopping mall is just nearby.

Do visit the Shousenkyo when you are in Kofu. Take bus 3 or 4 from Kofu bus station (next to the train station) and pay 870yen/adult to the driver when you alight at the last station.

We enjoyed staying in this hotel and would recommend it to others who visit Kofu.

All hotels in the centre of the city of Kofu are relatively cheap and simple. No five star luxury in this town! Having mediocre experiences with the Washington hotel (in Tokyo Akihabara), I opted for the "Dormy Inn" instead. I saw Dormy Inn in Tokyo often but never dared to book it because it's just too cheap. What can a hotel offer for so little money?

The answer is: quite a lot! It started with good parking and friendly staff at checkin (although hardly any English is spoken). They're quick and polite and show the many free services the hotel offers: snacks, microwaves, onsen (hot bath), ice machine, PCs and more. The room was much, much better than I ever dared to expect for this price. They're fair sized and offer more luxury than one can reasonably expect at this price.

The only minor problem I experienced was cigarette smell from the hallway (near smoke free rooms #417) and noise from the adjacent rooms. Other than that it was a fine stay, I had a good rest and a nice time in Kofu.

The next day Dormy Inn offered a buffet breakfast that far surpasses that of other budget hotels like Remm or Washington. After staying at Dormy Inn just one question remains: how does this hotel make any profit at all?

Decent location, around 10mins walk from Kofu station or ¥730 via taxi. Close to small shops and pubs and small eateries. The room itself is small but clean and bed is comfortable, although it will be better if they provide extra pillows. The bathroom is not big but well designed, separating the bathroom and toilet. They serve free ramen at night although we didn't try. The Onsen was good and clean...as everything is in Japan.:)

Pretty clean and reasonable. Never stayed in a place that in some rooms doesn't have a shower. Don't expect to get much sleep in there busy period of August. The noise from the people staying in the hotel was constant at all hrs of the night it seemed like there was always someone in the hallway talking and kids running up and down sceeming. I wasn't going to write a review but this mornings event prompted me too. There was one particular kid sceeming in the hallway for a good hr. All I'll say is the other guests don't seem to have much respect for the people staying here.

The rooms are clean and comfortable but a little small. The breakfasts are good. The top floor hot spring bath really makes the place. They have an indoor and outdoor bath. For that reason alone I will come back. The staff was great as well.

The Dormy inn in Kofu is in a convenient location not too far from the station and with easy access to department stores and small boutique shops. Its amenities show some signs of wear and tear but I do enjoy the complementary noodle soup served after 9 pm in the evening. This is a welcome treat for those who have just arrived.

I have stayed at the Dormy inn on tree occasions during the last three years and have noticed a slow but steady decline in quality, particularly of the breakfasts.

This hotel features a hot spring, a functional room, and breakfast. They are all better than I expected.
The hot spring is on the 10th floor. Unfortunately I took it at night. I would have been more comfortable if I had taken it during the daytime. This bath is big enough and there is an outside one. There are two bath spaces that are available for both men and women. We have to take our own towel which is provided in the room. Lockers are available in the dressing room.
The room is spacious, but not too big. It is very functional. Nothing else needs to be added. However, the desk is relatively small, so it isn't easy to do much work. This room is clean and has a shower, toilet and a unit bathtub including a shower.
I didn't have enough time to have breakfast there. It starts at 6.15am, which I think is convenient for business people. Actually, many people ate there from early in the morning. I will enjoy it next time.
I took a hotel bus which left for Kofu station at 6.40 am and I'm now going back to Tokyo using the express train. I will reach Shinjyuku station around 9.00am. I had a comfortable trip this time.

Stayed at more than 5 different Dormy Inns in larger cities, and this Dormy Inn in Kofu is up to expectation.
- Centrally located with F & B options
- Clean hotel
- Clean rooms
- Functional toilet and sink area
- Acceptable room space but still need some efficient space management on your part, multiple large suitcase will have a problem. Best with small or medium size.
- Onsen availability

However:
- On site carpark is rather limited during my stay and its automated stacked parking
- Location is about 15mins walk from Kofu Station. Weather may screw this up for you.

A preferred choice for the area, but I'll try the other Dormy Inn within Kofu next time for a comparison.

The largest twin room is 18m2. They do have a larger Japanese room where you sleep on futons on a tatami floor. That is 23m2.
