Detailed Reviews
At the other end of town, taxi ride 1600Y. We did see Mount Fuji one afternoon. If you want to take the local bus #4 to the Shosenkyo Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes up the street towards the supermarket, in the supermarket side of the street. If you want to go to the Kofu station, take the bus in the hotel side.
Reception-Excellent service but no English, the bell hops, did speak a bit, so they were very helpful. We reserved a view suite nonsmoking and got a non-view smoking. We were changed to a view suite, but it was also smoking.
Breakfast was not included, neither the pool nor the onsen.
Room-Vey good size, but not well decorated and very dated.
Light for reading was good.
Bed – A bit hard and also the pillow.
Air Conditioning-good
Wi-Fi-Only in the lobby.
TV no instructions in English a 2 remote system
Refrigerator-Good size and quiet
Room for bags-Good
Tea Kettle
Bathroom-Good size with handle shower
Shower pressure-OK
Cloths line-No
Towels-Nice and clean.
Hair dryer-Good
Full length mirror-Yes
Makeup mirror-No
Laundry-No self-serve
Iron and ironing board-No
Complimentary bottle water-No
Plugs-None by the bed, but since there is no Wi-Fi in the room it doesn’t matter.

We had a large spacious room, but a very small bathroom, we were lucky and where allocated a room at the front which meant we could see Mount Fuji in the distance. The bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep, no noise. Breakfast was not very good for the western pallet.

This hotel was booked for me by the business I was visiting. At check-in, we (several of us were traveling together) were informed only Japanese rooms were available. This involves a room without a bed - instead the table is moved aside, and a futon is laid out on the tatami mats. It was actually surprisingly comfortable!
The bathroom was a little dated, but large & functional. Internet access was free via LAN cable hidden behind the TV. Only gripe was that the cable was too short to reach the table & chairs by the window, so you had to crouch down on the floor to work.
Breakfast was a mixture of Japanese and Western. Less extensive than the buffets in larger Tokyo-area hotels, but quite adequate.
Overall, it was fine & I would stay again. Just don't expect the same quality/service as the Tokyo 5-stars - this is a more laid back experience.

I think Fujiya is the only truly first-class hotel in Kofu, although there's a couple of very nice (but very expensive) hot spring ryokan-type lodgings nearby. The service/hospitality is outstanding here. The hotel's been recently redone, and our room was immaculately clean and the hallway had very nice, newish carpeting. The rooms either face north or south... try to get a room facing south, as that gives you a sweeping view of the Kofu basin out across to Mt.Fuji and the Southern Alps. There are different room types and, based on the website's info, they are all very spacious. We stayed in the traditional Japanese-style room, where there are no beds. At night, two ladies come and lay out futon on the tatami floor for you. The housekeeping puts the futon away when they come service the room during the day. The windows are huge and affords a great view.
For the size, this hotel has an enormous array of restaurants. We had lunch buffet on the top floor, and the quality and selection were incredible. Our reservation included breakfast buffet in the morning; that was also quite good with both Japanese and Western breakfast items, along with salad and houtou (a Yamanashi specialty... thick miso soup with soft udon noodles). Only gripe with the breakfast buffet is that, depending on when you go, it might be packed and you may have to wait for a table. Anyone who stays here should definitely go take a dip in the onsen (hot springs) on the 3rd floor... the size of the onsen area is certainly not on the same scale as most other onsen resorts', but there were still 2 indoor and 1 outdoor baths and I thought the quality of the onsen water was pretty solid. Of course, you have to be prepared to go au-natural; men's and women's areas are totally separate, though. They also have a massage parlor and gym/pool (not free even to hotel guests), which I did not use.
The hotel is in the Yumura hot springs section of town, and it's close to 10min by taxi from the main Kofu station. But there's a convenience store and a shopping center (including supermarket) within 3min walk of the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days while in Japan for a wedding. Our room was spacious and elegant, with every amenity imaginable. Beautifully quiet and serene. The breakfast buffet was included in the rate. It had a large selection of Japanese and western items, and the service was outstanding. (It did get just a little boring after a week, as the selection never changed from day to day, but eggs cooked to order were also available.). The staff was friendly and helpful, though not particularly fluent in English; still, we got along just fine with a few gestures and repetitions. The hotel tends to attract bus tour groups, so the lobby and breakfast room can get quite busy.

This is a nice way to experience a Japanese style hotel for much less than a ryokan. We did not utilize the onsen, but poked our heads in to see what the hype was about. It looked very nice and was popular after dinner time. The rooms are average and a little beaten up in parts, but nice views on the one side. We also partook in the Japanese style dinner and it was also worth the experience.

I reserved a special offer for my first stay. They gave me a cozy and large enough room with very good view of South Alps mountains.
Public bath space is well equipped. I could not have a wide sky at the outdoor bath but I felt relaxed due to nice water temperature.

I stayed at this hotel July 17, 2017. The rooms were very spacious with an amazing view. Very clean. Gift shops and free spa were available for guests. Many restaurant choices to choose from but was a bit pricy. Two buffet meals cost 8464 yen. One downside is that wifi is not available in rooms only in hotel lobby. We had to hang out on lobby couches to get wifi.
