We were very much impressed by the lobby upon entering. It has high ceilings and tastefully designed, with dark wood accents. When we arrived by car, it was raining heavily. You need to drop off your car at the motorized carpark adjacent to the hotel. Someone will take over and park it for you. In the morning, you inform reception to have someone fetch it for you.

Anticipating our needs, the reception staff fetched us two large umbrellas so we could use them to walk around the neighborhood in the rain. We did walk about but did not find much of interest besides some small izakayas. So, we decided to try the restaurant on the second floor. Are we glad we did! The restaurant had a nice, cozy ambience and the steak that was served was tasty and tender. The meal ended with a nice dessert.

Alas, the room was small even by Japan standards and the bed was a super single size even though we booked a doubles room. If not for this point, it would have been a great stay.

For most western traveler, it will generally be a struggle to get used to super small hotel rooms in Japan. Being in the suburban area of Tokyo, most of Kof hotels are very small.

Konaya is exceptional. Nice lobby and great service from the moment you step into the hotel. Best of all, the rooms are very decent size, and so is the bathroom. Location is also great, about less than 10 mins from Kofu train station.

My favorite place to stay when in Kofu. Rooms are comfortable. The staff very accommodating. The breakfast choices are great. You can have either Western style, eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee. Or if you prefer, the Japanese breakfast is very good also. Located a short 10 minutes from the train station and less than a block from Orion Street makes this a great location.

This hotel offered great value for the price. The photos on their website make it look nice but it was even more impressive in person. The lobby and lounge are absolutely gorgeous. My room was a decent size for a single traveler and offered all the amenities I needed. It was also extremely clean. A soak in the hot springs bath was a treat after a long journey from the US east coast. I didn't have the chance to eat at the restaurants.
The staff was courteous and welcoming. The walk to the station would be a little far with luggage, but is fine otherwise. Located near several good bars and restaurants.
I loved staying here and will stay again the next time I go to Kofu on business.

Great hotel with old-fashioned wooden staircase at the lobby; small but decent onsen hot spring inside a downtown hotel; furniture and facilities showed age but kept with decent maintenance and good hygiene; popular venue for business events & wedding for locals; a 8-minute walk within manageable distance from JR Kofu Station South Exit; a short 2-minute walk from bus stop to nearby scenic spot at Shosenkyo Gorge & Senga Falls; very hospitable staffs at front desk who speak adequate English; offered butler-like service in arranging reservations for nearby guided tour at the famous Sadoya Winery, which required a Japanese phone number for online reservation; satisfying stay and worthwhile for a return visit if visiting Kofu or nearby Yamanashi towns

Stayed at executive suite room. Hotel was not that close, not that far from station.
No shuttle is available from Kofu station.
Room was clean and beautiful, but view was (sorry) miserable as you see the picture. That was at the 4th FL.

Maybe this hotel located in the old city center, very close by department store and small restaurants. Very convenient. Staff members were so kind.
Meal was great, used local materials.
Hot spa is there at 1st floor, not that easy to access and may need to prepare for insecticide to protect from mosquito.

Sweet hotel! An oasis in the city of Kofu. Visiting my daughter in Kofu, needed to change hotels from my previous one and glad to find this place Peaceful place with top-notch staff. Facilities, cleanliness, staff are excellent. Location is very good (would only be better if a little closer to the train station, though it is not far at all, 10 minute walk or $7 cab ride, and I did both). And, it is close to restaurants, night life, plenty to do. Rooms are small-ish though well appointed and still of adequate size. Bedding was very comfortable. Bar & restaurant were very nice, with the waterfall outside the window.
Staff spoke a little English, just the bridge I needed. Didn't use the Onsen though it is supposed to be fabulous. Did I mention that this hotel was a great value for the money? It definitely was, and I'd recommend this hotel highly.

My family and relatives truly enjoyed our stay here. Though the facility is not new, it's well cleaned and they have thorough customer services, for instance, preparing clean water in the hot pot from the beginning. Onsen(hot spring) here is 24h available, and if you're lucky enough to stay at 3rd floor rooms, with flower names, you can even use private Onsen at the balcony of the room. The location is fantastic too. It is only 5-10min walk from Kofu station, and some sight seeing spots like Takeda Shingen Statue, Maizuru Castle, and Takeda Shrine are also within the walking distance from the hotel. + front desk can speak English

We stayed at the Konaya for five nights, and enjoyed it immensely. The entrance and lobby are lovely--very interestingly and dramatically decorated with dark woods and warm colors. The staff is attentive and thoughtful. Our western-style room was well appointed and very comfortable. Everything was clean and fresh and felt brand-new. The hotel offers a western-style breakfast in addition to the Japanese selection. There was little variety (eggs, meat, bread, juice), but it was nicely prepared, and the waitresses couldn't have been more pleasant or attentive. The lobby bar overlooks a waterfall and rock garden. The Chinese restaurant is excellent. There is free wifi in the lobby. One couldn't ask for a better location, near shopping and a short walk from the train station and other sights. Peaceful, quiet, and serene.
