The location of the hotel is not really near the bus terminal, you have to walk about 3-5 minutes. But this is not the worst. We booked a room for 3, but the room is obviously good for 2 persons. The public bath is terribly small, the onsen can only fit less than 5 persons. There are only 4 showers....

We stayed for three nights in Room 315. It has the best view of any place we have stayed. It is an unobstructed view of mountains and river. Yes, the building could use some updates but our western style room was comfortable and the decor was beautiful from the shoji doors to the tatami mats. The sitting area has a...

My two adult sons and I shared a traditional (tatami) room in this lodge. The lodge itself is part ryokan and part resort lodge. Though we were somewhat cramped and the room a little threadbare, it was well worth the experience, especially when you look out the window. The view is nothing sort of wonderful. One is expected to only...

We stayed here one night on our tour through Japan by car. The whole of Kamikochi reminds you of Disneyland, too many people at the center at all times. It is possible to walk the trails (amidst many other visitors) which are still beautiful, but I expect the real appeal to be in the mountains. The surroundings are gorgeous, absolutely...

It was one of the most beautiful place during our recent trip to Japan. Service of the front desk/Reception was great. They spoke good English. They presented to us a Fantastic vegetarian five course meal. Each course was better than the previous one & the desert was the highlight.Food presentation & service deserves a special point

Accommodation in Kamikochi is expensive and this hotel is no exception, but, if you can stretch to a night or two, you will not be disappointed. First the arrival: Kamikochi is astoundingly beautiful as you walk from the bus depot, through the forest and along the river. The hotel is right at Kappa bridge, and is small, unobtrusive and low-rise....

We stayed in a western style (beds!!) room facing the river. In June the evenings were cool and spending the night with the windows open and the sounds of the river was magical. From bed we could see the mountains, just beautiful! The building is a little dated and has seen better days but everything is clean, comfortable and the...

Arrived to be welcomed by charming helpful staff. Taken to room with the best view overlooking the mountains. Unfortunately grey and raining so couldn't experience just how breathtaking it is until second morning (leaving morning). Room charming. Little annex area with western seats (comfy), fridge and facilities to make tea and coffee. Japanese style room which when having dinner they...
