This ryokan, like most other ryokans, was quite old, but had its own charm. The onsen was quite all right, though it was a pity they didn't have private onsens. There is free wifi, but limited to the lobby, so you can't really access the internet in your room. The food was wonderful. Dinner was served in the comfort of...

We stayed 2 nights in two double rooms (family of 4). The service is very very good, rooms are nice, the place is centrally located, and they have free parking to boot. Our first time in a ryokan and we will be looking for more. Highly recommended!

We stayed 3 nights with 2 small children in this Ryokan. That is a typical Japanese style hotel with tatamis on the floor and a low table in the room to eat. We had a great time to experience the traditional Japanese way of living. Breakfast and dinner was included. For the youngest we got a Japanese style children’s meal...

I stayed two nights in this traditional Ryokan which is a short walk from the train station. They displayed my name on the notice board to welcome me. Shoes come off in the lobby and are stored on shelves. Slippers are provided. The room is a spacious with tatami mats, paper sliding doors & you are provided with yukata's to...

stayed here 3 nights. This Ryokan is located close to the JR Takayama station as well as close to the "main street" of the town. The tatami is very comfortable and the onsen is very nice. We especially enjoyed the breakfast and the dinner that was provided by the Ryokan, very good value for money and what a feast it...

The Ryokan Seiryu is fairly handy to JR Takayama station (make sure you have your map or gps with you before setting off through the maze of streets). One of our names was on the front welcome banner and a very friendly receptionist welcomed us to the Ryokan. Shoes are removed in the foyer and stored in shelves until you...

Good ryokan, nice rooms, although somewhat smaller than other ryokans we visited. Onsen at the ryokan was small but very nice. Very friendly staff. Overall good experience, but we had better stays for this price range at other ryokans during our trip.

To be honest, we were rather disappointed . We found the staff frequently very inflexible and sometimes downright unfriendly; for instance, when taking dinner in the room (not cheap!), we were constantly interrupted by staff determined to clear away, even though we transparently hadn't finished. When on another night, we asked for our bed to be laid out a little...

We spent one night at the Ryokan Seiryu which was ten minutes far from the train station by foot. They welcomed us with a very warm service. The room was spacious and had everything we looked for. The main area of the room was the living area which would be turned to a bedroom in the evening. The room rate...

Stayed just 1 night at Seiryu Ryokan with family of 4, but wished to stay more. We stayed all together in a single guest room. It was cosy but fine for all for a good night sleep and great traditional experience. We had traditional full dinner including 2x five kinds of Hida beef in the in room dining. In one...
