The facilities are great, the room was spacious and clean. The onsen area was large with multiple baths, and there was an outdoor area as well. Staff are nice, very helpful actually. Right next to the reception area, there is a little shop you can buy variety of gifts there. Driving is of free parking as well.

Our American family was visiting a Japanese family in Gifu and they made arrangements for us to stay at this beautiful and upscale Ryokan . We had a fantastic Kaiseki meal , stayed in a roo with tatami and a view of the river, then enjoyed an early morning visit to an onsen with several different soaking tubs including one...

This was the fourth time I have stayed in a Ryokan. This was by far the largest Ryokan I have stayed in. The facility was clean, the room was large, it slept 4. The onsen area was large with multiple baths, and there was an outdoor area as well. Only complaint was there were not many restaurants nearby.

For our family trip, our travel agent wanted us to experience a Japanese stay in a ryokan. We were escorted to our tatami room which was set with special treats as the hostess poured us tea. We had a view of the river. The hotel had a geisha demonstration, probably because the cormorant fishing was cancelled (our only disappointmemnt) and...

Our family decided to spent a night somewhere between Tokyo and Osaka when we drove Osaka. As Nagaragawa hot spring area is one of the famous spots, we expected to pay a lot, but we were fortunate to have found an excellent deal on Rakuten website. From my experience, many Japanese ryokans explicitly differentiate between those who pay full-rate and...

We were extremely impressed by the service level of this hot spring hotel and the English speaking staff. The level of service surpassed anything I have experienced in 5 star hotels in Tokyo. Congratulations to Okamura-san, Kanazawa-san and your front desk colleagues. Keep up the high standards!
