I arrived at the hotel at 4 am and wanted to pay for a night (I was planning to stay for only for a few hours and then continue my trip). The clerk said that since it was early check in for the following day, i had to pay $10/hour for early check in plus the following night rate; the total amount was equivalent to 2 full days...even though I stayed only 4 hours. Very disappointed with this service! I do not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Extended Stay America Buffalo - Amherst have clean and spacious rooms considering the Hotels in the area. I have stayed in 7 different hotels in the past two months and Extended stay has been the best so far by far. The staff are very courteous and always willing to help. Great value for one night or several nights. Great location close to dining and shopping.

Really good price staff was really nice. I stayed an extra day and they were really helpful when it came to checking in and letting me keep the same room. More amenities than I expected. Would stash here again.

Nancy and I are members of 2 makor Hotel Chains. I had to select a place where i would get my care while having to have nursing care and theraphy.We are glad that we selected ESA Amherst NY. The people who run this hotel are the sweetest people. They all go out of there way to make sure you enjoy your stay. Rooms are very clean and its at a perfect location close to lots of restaurants and stores and amazing customer service. :)

I had a TERRIBLE experience at this place. I'll also send a message to the hotel chain senior management as they need to be aware of what low qualified employees are doing to their brand.
Customer service: The two front desk girls that were working on this past Saturday afternoon (7/11) ruined the reputation of this hotel to me, and I'm sure they have done to others as well. Theirs names are Chrystal and Clarisse.
Here is what happened:
I arrived with my husband at 2PM. We walked in at the lobby, there was a sign on the desk: "I'm assisting other guests, I'll be back shortly". So, I set down and waited. I noticed that the front desk person, Chryslal, was on the phone, not with a client (she could not be seen, but I could clearly hear her): "this sh&t is f@$&ed up, I quit, I quit". I happened to be making a video of the lobby, and you can hear on the background (I'll share this video with Extended Stay senior management only). At that point, Clarissa comes to the front desk and sees me. She immediately runs back and quietly tells Chrystal that a guest was right outside. Crystal comes out, I said I was there to check in. She looks at Clarissa and ask: "are the rooms clean?". Clarissa answers without checking anything: "no". Crystal asked me to be back at 3, which is the official check in time. They both held up from laughing.
Instead of leaving, I set at the lobby chair and decided to wait. It was very awkward. At the same time, a large group showed up to check in as well. So, without checking or anything, she decided that she needs to let all of us to check in, and the only words she said were: "I need a credit card and an id". No "please", no "thank you", nothing.
Clarissa just stood there and looked.
They made themselves look completely inefficient and rude. I will not return to an Extend Stay America because I don't want to have this frustration again.
I will notify senior manager of the chain because from a business perspective, they need to know what low qualified employees are doing to their brand.
Room: the room smelled a little weird, I think it used to be a smoking room in the past. AC worked fine. The bed was small but comfortable.

Stayed here for one night prior to an early morning flight out of Buffalo Airport. It is located just off the highway beside two other hotel properties. The location is ideal for flying out of Buffalo Airport as it is an easy 10 minute drive from the hotel, yet has lower prices than any of the "airport" hotels. Upon check-in we were given rooms with two beds, a pleasant surprise considering that the information on Priceline was that an upgrade fee would have to be paid to be placed in a two bed rather than one bed suite. Although we did not use the kitchen considering the brevity of our stay, it is an excellent feature for the rooms to have. That said, we found that it was missing some of the 'essentials' that one might need to actually cook and eat in the room; for example, the cutlery drawer in one of the rooms featured knives and spoons but no forks. Many of the kitchen utensils also did not look particularly clean, so we would have had to wash some items before using them. The bathroom and room moreover could have been cleaned more thoroughly between guests; for example, one of the two chairs in our room had a large number of food bits/crumbs stuck between the seat and back. Needless to say it was gross and no one sat on it because of this. The staff service was very friendly, especially from Karl at the front desk. The beds were very, very comfortable and all in our party reported an especially good sleep. The air conditioning was also really effective. The hotel offers limited service (no pool / fitness centre) but does offer wifi (which had good speeds) and a continental breakfast (but only between 6 and 9). It is located close to a lot of restaurants and shops. My only other complaints are that (a) the hotel corridors are very poorly lit; and, (b) that no shampoo is provided in the rooms (you have to buy it from the vending machine if you didn't bring any). For $45 per night, this hotel provided an excellent value and was better than expected for the one or two stars it is advertised as. With a few small improvements, and more thorough room cleaning, this hotel could easily be in the quality range of more full-service properties such as Best Western and Fairfield.

Caters to white and blue collar people staying several days. There is a microwave and two burners. You can cook your own food if you want. The Grab and Go breakfast is Granola Bars, Packaged Muffins, Oatmeal and Coffee. You get free WiFi. We booked via Hotwire and got an amazing price.

Checked in after booking on Priceline. In bed with daughter when I was bit. Pulled bedbug off me and off daughter. Pulled mattress away from headboard and found swarms of bedbugs size of beetles. We immediately got up at 12 midnight and left. Asked for money back and it was refused by Louis at front desk. Refused to give refund, copy of receipt or to call manager Brian Doherty. Police were called and Louis told them an irate guest saw spiders! I called priceline and they stated they need to wait till morning to confirm with manager. Disgusting hotel! Horrible!
