Detailed Reviews
Overall this was a great experience - clean, comfortable beds, good breakfast variety (and I believe breakfast continued until 10am which is excellent for us "late risers!). Front desk was friendly. As always anywhere there were a few small things - no cookies in lobby during our visit, no washcloths, the bathroom towel bar is placed out of reach of the tub/shower etc. But these are minor things found at even the best hotels. The market/cafe had a limited selection (example - Dr. Pepper only) during our stay and I overheard them say they had not received an expected delivery. I would stay here again.

We stayed here because we were touring University at Buffalo. The hotel was clean and the room was comfortable. Our front desk clerk was a UBuff Alum and incredibly nice and helpful and was even selling us on UBuff! (I think he may have been even better than the tour organizer at UBuff!) Overall nice place to stay.

Clean room. Friendly staff. Great location. I would stay here again. Check in went very smoothly. I can't remember the front desk agents name, but he was very friendly. Continental breakfast is free, with hot eggs and sausage. Hotel backs up to the University of Buffalo.

This hotel is not recommended. After gouging us on room rates during the eclipse ($476.61 total room rate for one night), they never cleaned the room. On the second day, we returned to the hotel to find the room a mess. Had to go to the front desk to get fresh towels and then dump our trash in bins conveniently located in the hall outside the rooms. We were told that there would be a "refresh" the third day - new towels and trash picked up. Upon our return to the room on Day 3, again, no "refresh" or any sign of cleaning. This time when we complained at the front desk, they did call one of their cleaners who replaced towels and emptied the trash, but did not clean the bathroom or anywhere else.
The hotel manager also did not seem to care about general hotel cleanliness - elevator floors and the breakfast room floor were consistently dirty. With all the extra cash the manager collected from customers last week, he could have hired an extra cleaner or two, or paid his regular staff some overtime.
Marriott should do their due diligence before hiring hotel managers, or selling franchises under their name. If the Marriott name is associated with a hotel, one expects a high quality of service.
On the plus side, the front desk personnel were great - responsive and friendly, with plenty of towels to hand out to disgruntled guests.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, it was awful from check-in. 4 people at desk, only 1 could complete check-in. He was unable to tell us when room would be serviced, just it's not everyday. Our room was never serviced the whole time. Every time you walked into the lobby area, there never was a person behind the desk. Advised front desk of issue with shower door not closing, water on the floor, no one ever came. Advised desk 3 times there were ants on bathroom floor, no one ever came. 2nd time I mentioned to desk about the ants, the female clerk said she didn't understand what I meant, Spelled "ants" for her, her answer was that maybe they should change our room so I didn't have to complain every day. Regardless of twice receiving phone call or knock on door about servicing the room, it never happened. Dirty towels were still on the floor when returning to our room late evening. My husband took them down to the desk to get clean ones. Ice machines broken on multiple floors, hot tub broke the whole time, waffle maker broke multiple days. One of the weather mats in the lobby is a safety hazard since one of the corners is folded over. We saw people trip and almost fall, accident waiting to happen. Customer service training is needed in all departments.
Bottom line, we will never stay at a Fairfield Inn again nor recommend them to anyone.

Can't believe this is a Marriott brand. We stayed three nights. We're supposed to receive housekeeping every other day. Did not happen. Woman at front desk was curt, rude and dismissive when I asked why I did not receive new shampoo and bath gel second day. When I didn't receive any service on third day I was told by staff at desk they are short of housekeeping staff and you must request every day if you want anything. If you don't request you will get nothing: no toilet paper, no coffee and coffee cups, nothing. I will say Tyler, who works at reception was the exception: polished, professional, helpful and courteous. They also need to do maintenance checks. Shower handle about to fall off door. Closet door handle very loose.

Someone constructed the hotel as an afterthought. There is nothing aesthetically pleasing about it. It sits at a dead end. The hotel shares a parking lot with what I assume is an apartment complex for nearby university students. Behind the hotel is an abandoned aluminum building.
The rooms are typical although the one we rented did not have draw curtains. We changed our clothes with puritanical modesty. Housekeeping is nonexistent because of COVID. We were told this the second day of our travel. Our garbage was never taken. Towels had to be requested. Forget about the beds being made. We did complete a form to request housekeeping, but housekeeping never came.
The pool area was gross. I am convinced COVID started there. The gym had one machine and a scale. The breakfast was as good as a cheap gas station. We paid a lot for very little. Plenty of other hotels nearby. Go there instead.

Breakfast was rather awful- coffee was terrible, selection was poor and limited, nothing was labeled and I had to ask for items that just weren’t pulled out from below the counters yet (syrup, stirrers). The room appeared very clean. Our deadbolt did not work and I had to get a (very friendly and helpful) staff to fix the other locking mechanism because all of the screws were very loose. The pool was cloudy and had visible bugs and spiders at the bottom. They scooped out the bugs and shocked the pool but we still unfortunately did not swim because it was freezing cold.

Hotel was in great location, close enough to walk to restaurants. This hotel is close to the University of Buffalo within walking distance. The breakfast buffet had lots of options. The only problem I had with the room was the bathroom was not clean well and our trash cans were never emptied within the 5 days.

We have stayed here previously without issue. On this occasion, it appears the hotel has preset the water temperature in the shower to tepid. We tried to shower both in the evening and early the next morning with the same result.
Ridiculous to be expected to take alukewarm showers.
We will not return.
