This hotel has all the trimmings to be an absolute Uruguayan gem, but it falls way way short due to what we experienced as probably the worst service we have ever encountered in a hotel ever. And we are fairly low maintenance highly experienced travelers. For starters, there was zero communication from the hotel before we arrived, nor was there...

Casa Chic is simple and beautiful; the service is perfect: helpful, gracious, and understated; the chef is terrific. The location is gorgeous. Easy to get to from Buenos Aires (easier than Montevideo). It is the perfect place to go if you want to relax, eat well, be surrounded by natural beauty. Best, I would think, for a couple rather than...

The place is beautiful but they have a lot of glitches to work out. The description of the cottage on the website we booked did not match what they provided which meant an adult wound up sleeping on an uncomfortable cot. In addition, the "deposit" on the website did not happen at all. Apparently its just for show (which led...

This hotel is absolutely fabulous!! My husband and I wanted to visit Carmelo and were looking for somewhere cozy, romantic, where we could just relax and enjoy a weekend away from home. After an extensive research, we finally booked at Casa Chic. Our choice couldn't have been better! The rooms all have a lovely view to the beach and Rio...

We stayed at the Four Seasons several times before but during our last stay we found it a little runned down. We decided to try the Casa Chic Country Hotel and we are extremely pleased with the experience. The rooms are not as large as in the 4S but the views are unique. Instead of the views of the woods...

So this is not your typical place... And I like that The rooms are new, clean, and extremely comfortable. The views are great and it's so quiet at night. For $200/night, this is a steal compared to comparable places in the US. There isn't much English spoken and we did have lukewarm hot water, but the scenery and peacefulness was...

This is an 8 month old yet to finish resort /villa properties so you have distant builders but they seem to hammer quietly! It is very chic developed by the Argentinian owners of the adjacent vineyard which produce a fantastic complimentary Merlot bottle on arrival. This place is going to rival in a year or so the Four Seasons next...

We couldn't imagine a better way to spend Christmas and New Year holidays. Disconnected from reality, enjoying lazy mornings, long walks through the country yards and lay down at the majestic swimming pool with an awesome river view. Waking up every morning to the wonderful sounds of nature and the fresh air of the flowers was only the beginning of...

After several hours driving from Montevideo, we arrived in Carmelo to stay at Casa Chic. As experienced travellers that have stayed in several 5 star hotels, including the nearby Four Seasons, we should have stayed away from any hotel with the name 'chic' included in its name. Big Hat no Cattle - As a 5 star hotel, the hotel looks...
