We spent one night here in March. We arrived at 9pm by the hotel shuttle, the foyer was dark, and check in was slow. As my husband is a Platinum member we were "upgraded" to a large suite. The trouble was the corridor was completely dark (NO lights on) I think we were the only people in that wing !...

The hotel is in the perfect location to catch up on your rest before starting your travel to see the gorillas. The chef made sure we had "rolex", tasty local faire in our breakfast box before we left for an early flight.

Beautiful hotel with excellent attentive staff. Lovely setting and spacious well appointed rooms. Nice restaurant, and good outdoor and indoor bars. It's also nicely situated to the airport as well as a short taxi ride to all places of interest.

My latest visit started off on a bad note. Despite requesting for airport transfer, there was no one waiting for me at the airport when I arrived. iPad to make my own way to the hotel. I complained but got a lame apology. I decided to get over it and stay on but the dinner service was equally disappointing. 40...

Our flight from Istanbul arrived late in the night. The Protea Hotel is just 5 mins away from the airport. Had a chance for a great sleep before starting our holiday in Uganda. Professional reception staff and a great breakfast.

About the Protea I have mixed feelings, as it was announced as an excellent hotel. Why mixed feelings? On the good side, the reservation worked well, we got a De luxe room with a good rate, the view to the lake is superb, lots of birds around, large pool. The breakfast extraordinary - at least 30 meters of all kind...

We stayed here for 1 night. It's a good hotel.very near airport.but it needs a lot of upgrading.the lift was not working, tiles are loose all over the place, beach area is closed and the price is really steep. Overall not bad but expensive. It's supposed to be a 100USD hotel, but we paid double.

This hotel is presently under construction, but it didn't hinder our stay. We stayed here for less than one day to catch an early morning flight. Our room was very nice and clean. We are Marriott Gold members so we were given a generous upgrade at check-in. The restaurant was fine, the food was not bad, the menu was typical...
