I stayed at Menzel el Kateb with my husband, our 3-month old baby daughter and a friend - and couldn't have wished for better hosts. Doris and Kamel are wonderful hosts and are truly interested in making their guests feel relaxed and taken care of. The Menzel has 3 different units - one for luxury stays, one block in which...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Menzel El Katab, our hosts, Doris and Kamel, are delightful, charming and generous. They accomodated and anticipated our needs, prepared excellent meals, ordered our taxis, and gave valuable advice , making our sojourn there as comfortable and worry free as possible. Doris is a superb cook and Kamel's jams, made from their own fruit...

This place is great for families, friends, couples or solo travelers. You will simply get top notch hosting and authenticity. The hosts are great people and immediately make you feel at home. The homes ooze simplicity, sophistication, artistic flair, history and tradition. Beaches are 10-25 minutes away by car depending on where you are going. It is definitely not a...

Menzel El Kateb is the most unconventional yet unforgettable experience in Djerba. Miles away from the predictably boring western-style resorts, it offered us a unique experience in a traditional djerban farm, surrounded by orange trees and palms. Amazing places, excellent dinner, warm and friendly owners, who are understandably proud of this gem.

“There are rooms which are traditional Djerban style consisting of a downstairs and upstairs facility. I would recommend that people who have arthritis or mobility avoid these rooms as the stairs are very steep. There are other rooms which are on one floor available which would benefit people with mobility issues.”
