We were going to be in Alexandria Bay for 4 days and opted to rent a room with a kitchenette. Did not use the oven but did use the microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Not many dishes available and had to ask for a coffee cup. Only Styrofoam was available. There were no dishtowels on hand. Had to put a towel over the window because the curtain was not wide enough to close it. The beds and pillows were comfy. Wi-fi was good. The room served our purpose however furniture needs updating. Bathroom needs to be completely done over - - shower was so tiny (probably about 2'x2') didn't even want to turn around in it for fear of falling. No grab bar in the shower either (I thought it was a state law you needed a grab bar.) Bar soap too small to use in the shower. Nowhere to put stuff other than the counter by the sink. Needs some shelving to put stuff on. It really looks nice in the picture but reading some of the reviews (mine included) management has not done much to address the problems people had, including the dirty floors. Air and heat worked effectively. Friendly staff. This hotel is outside of the main business area. There is no water view. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

Went to ABay on a tour for Boldt Castle. Room 106 was immaculately clean, had been updated very recently and we had a small balcony on the water facing the castle. Ships are only about 100 yards offshore since the channel is between the castle and the hotel. You have coffee available in the office and a whiteboard lists the ships scheduled to passing by daily. The staff here are very knowledgable and friendly. We will stay here again. They are right next door to the tour ships for the Thousdand Islands and right across the street from Riley's ... a good restaurant for breakfast.

We were very pleased with the hotel! Corey at the front desk, and jack of all trades during our stay, was very helpful. He gave us great advice on restaurants, bars, local music, and sightseeing to do. We would definitely stay here again. It was convenient to have a restaurant right in front of the hotel. It was an easy walk to Alexandria Bay. Very nice atmosphere. The hotel has everything you need for a great stay!

We had noisy neighbors, the beds make a squeaking noise when you get on them or off them, and there is a smell from the heating unit. The entire room was very, very clean, and no bugs (so that was good). We left after one night instead of staying both nights.

Cute little place, with easy check in. Very convenient. Walked down to the river and enjoyed sitting on the docks near the water. Plenty of toiletries, roomy little fridge, plenty of hot water and great a/c.

Because of Covid, We were saving our money and planned our stay in Alexandria Bay on our 39th Wedding Anniversary weekend. We finally made reservations with Captain's Inn and Suites. we paid in advance for our stay, A Boat cruise with Uncle Sam's boat tours Another of the Thomson families properties and planned to have dinner one of the 3 nights of our stay at yet another Thomson Family Owned property Riley's. The staff there are polite and doing the best they can with what they are given to work with. The rooms were remodeled my guess when the property was purchased, The rooms are nice to look at with laminate floors fresh paint and for the most part look very clean compared to many others we have stayed at. My wife brings our own linens and Pillows when we travel to feel at home. The first thing we notices on the Box Spring Cover is a Large Blood Stain. We were livid, The rooms are also very tiny, Do not have any dressers , No chairs to sit in leaving only the beds, They have a single two seat bench, A small tv, A very small frig that was way down on the floor, There was no counter space in the room except in the bathroom, a very tight space with a small shelf on the wall with two hangers No Phone, No Microwave in each of the two rooms we stayed in. The showers were weak pressure, The tv worked well enough, The WIFI worked for us. There are lights on the outside of each room right by the doors that stay on all night with bright light bulbs and the bugs flies etc gather on your door waiting for it to open to get free room nights that you have to deal with all through the night. There is ample parking in front of each room IF other Guests stay in front of their own room. The parking area is also not striped well. The swimming pool and front office were very clean. The room did have webs and bugs Due to the few maids that are on "Light Duty" Work a speed shift to quickly get through the rooms of the entire complex. Warning. The Beds SUCK. We just could not sleep well. It made our stay so horrible. The management offered us money back on our stay and two nights free upgrade in a larger suite which was very kind of them However even though the room was slightly bigger and much more appointed with a small dresser a larger frig, Balcony and stand up shower instead of tub the shower stall bottom had no treads and became slippery as all get out and I almost broke my neck getting out. We ended up using a small towel on the shower floor for traction, We were truly happy with the upgrade and larger sized room with a dresser to put our clothing. and planned to stay our full stay there, Alas Come bed time my wife and I ended up playing bumper cars in the middle of our bed we got though that night and packed out early. PS the entry door to the suit had a step to get in that was like a step and a half High .But parking on that side was much nicer. We enjoyed our trip due to the awesome tour we took on Uncles Sam's Alexandria Belle which was 2 hours long and went into Canadian Waters. A MUST DO and while in Boldt Castle we were called by the front desk at the hotel and asked if we had left because someone checked out of our room while we were gone causing us to get really upset thinking our room had gotten robbed and we rushed back on the next shuttle to find it all a misunderstanding with office staff. Our advice: Do your best to find a comfortable place to stay and enjoy a Great Boat tour, Boldt Castle, Some good food and fun shopping. Our thanks to Lisa who grew gray hair Doing what she did best. We thank you. Tell Mr Thomson to BUY SOME NEW BEDS!!!
