Headed south in my car from Koh Samui with my fiance to Trang and Hat Pak Men Beach the first day. Headed to Hat Samran and took the long tail boat from there to Koh Lao liang the following day. A piece of a advice regarding to boat trip: Bring earplugs, the noise from the engine is beyond noisy! Of...

Beautiful beach surrounded by beautiful rocks - also good for climbing if that's your thing. 40 or so tents spread out along beach. Choose one in front row for better view (cost extra). All inclusive with set breakfast (7.30-9), lunch (11.30-14) and dinner (18.30-20). Very simple, great for winding down. Kayaks for hire/loan, decent snorkling from beach, rudimentary bar with...

The islands are superb! The food pretty good. The tents are ok, though I didn't have fan as I didn't know it's possible to have and nobody took care to tell me. The staff isn't attentive although they take care of all that is needed. But the toilets and showers are dirty and far from being comfortable or well kept!...

We loved this island, it was the highlight of our tour of the region with Andaman Adventures, full marks to them for a really great holiday. Lao Liang is incredibly beautiful, just picture postcard perfect, it is definitely the most pristine and picturesque tropical island I have ever stayed on, and I’ve travelled more than my fair share. Other great...

We thought the price was very high as you sleep in tent, but the experience of having an island (alomost) to yourself made it worth it. We were here for 4 nights, and the difference between weekend, when the hords of local tourists came, and the week days were huge. At one point we were only a few on the...

My three days on Laoliang was the hands-down highlight of my two-month trip around Thailand. The island is beautiful, with an east-facing beach of clean white sand, and that clear, aquamarine water you can't believe still exists in SE Asia. It's peaceful day and night, with no noisy longtails going by (just one or two boats a day dropping off...

Undoubtedly our three night stay over New Year on Koh Laoliang was a highlight of our trip.… Let’s be clear, this is not a professional resort operation, but therein lies the beauty, it is a national park with a small operation run by locals (with the help of one or two westerners)…. it is not offering a resort style ‘don’t...

Spent Christmas here on the island - very low key and relaxed and a great place to get away from it all. Great place to stay if you enjoy camping and like the community feel that brings with it. The tents are adequate for sleeping in - definitely not a place for people who like to lounge indoors throughout the...

Head to this island for a unique beach camping experience. The setting is stunning and there are plenty of activities from rock climbing to scuba - all well instructed. Though this is a small island paradise, I would suggest 3 nights is enough if you are not used to camping. Take a good torch as there are no lights at...

This year was my fourth visit to Lao Liang since its opening. I keep coming back because it is, quite simply, paradise. I have lived and travelled in the south of Thailand for almost 20 years and have seen how tourism has affected other islands and beaches which were once considered pristine and secluded. I no longer visit these places...

“The island is more pleasant at lower 'occupancy', which is when we were there. I imagine at peak times it might not be as idyllic.”
Daengkirana, 11 Dec 2015 | Read review
“Front row is closer to beach. All tents are ok. There is a "VIP-tent" with extra good view (and a bit more space), front row tents close to the VIP tent also good.”

“Even the tents behind the front row are pretty much on the beach so if you want to save 300 baht, book one of those.”
