The Andamantra Resort & Villa Phuket garners mixed reviews, with many guests enjoying its strategic location close to beaches and local attractions, often commended for its stunning vistas. Despite the elegant atmosphere and substantial room sizes, some travelers have called out the hotel for its lack of cleanliness and maintenance.
Additionally, while the amenities like pools and breakfast variety are popular, service-related issues and extra charges have led to concerns about the overall value offered by the resort.

Detailed Reviews
Perhaps due to its relatively low price, this property was fully booked and the staff seemed overwhelmed. We were kept awake by late-night revelers unhampered by any visible security.
The room featured a door to the balcony which when locked, was still partially open. Supplies such as shampoo, coffee, etc were not replenished.
Morning breakfast was appalling both from a safety and a nutritional standpoint. No staff were wearing gloves and tables were wiped down with the previous guest's napkin. Even the rice soup was void of chicken - dismal.
Although this property is nicely located, that's about all that can be said of its positive qualities.

The hotel is on a cliff and the rooms require a lot of stairs or the hotel shuttle.
The rooms were spacious but not clean, especially given it’s hard wood floors, like they haven’t even mopped or swept.
We arrived at 3pm and the room was still not ready until 4pm.. not ideal when you have two children under 4yo.
The pool was big but cold. There were a lot of ants around that bite.
The kids room is just a small room with some toys.
The buffet breakfast has good variety.
The hotel was ok but what really let us down was that they wanted to charge 100baht to use the microwave to sterilise our baby bottles.
I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself is older and receives the three star rating of average. The stairs and steep incline make it difficult to navigate in a relaxing way. With the heat, I’m already sweating after the first set of stairs. My room was nice, but could have used touch ups & refreshing. One area in the bathroom really should have been replaced before I arrived. Room service was great, but the food really wasn’t. Pad Thai was the only thing I really liked. Foods were frequently unavailable when I called. I preferred walking down and to the right for some street eats by Kalim beach. There is a 7-11, ATM, and pharmacy there as well, which makes this location very convenient! Aoddy’s is a nice place to stop for a drink, appetizers or delicious pizza, if you are walking back from Patong beach.
That considered there are two five star experiences here:
1) rooftop pool at sunset and
2) spa on the 4th level
A Thai or sport massage from View will edge out any knot you have lingering. She is small, but mighty and really helped with a knee injury I arrived with. Katt is great at communicating through WhatsApp and gave me a wonderful Indian head massage.
Sammy is the sweetest as you can tell customer service is very important to him. He’ll help with your bags and drive you up to your room when available.
My room service gal Bang was also lovely and left Frangipani (plumeria) next to my bed one day. It was such a lovely gesture that really gave me delight. She helped make sure I had enough water each day as well!
I paid $15/night through Agoda and felt this was a wonderful experience for what I invested. I also came during the Phuket Sandbox restart of tourism here, so I completely understand it will take time to get back into a rhythm of service and restore what’s deteriorating.

This hotel has now been rebranded the Andamantra (which confused our cab driver a little). It’s a huge sprawling set of buildings rising up the hillside just north of Patong Beach. Don’t even think of staying here if you can’t manage stairs (and plenty of them). Even reception is up a flight of stairs with no ramp. There are stairs in every building, between buildings and there is no way to get to between pools and rooms or to breakfast that doesn’t involve stairs.
We stayed in a king studio with views out over the Andaman Sea from the balcony. The mattress was inset into a large plinth bed which was almost guaranteed to bark a shin at some point or other. The bathroom was a decent size with two entry doors, one of which was hanging off the side rail. The water pressure in the shower not great, but good enough. Room décor and furniture just old and tired.
Breakfast was included as part of our package which was served in the top bar/restaurant with nice views. There was plenty of choice, western, european and Asian in the food warmers, but the only freshly cooked western option was egg/omelette. Much of the bread was sweet and over our three day stay, the pastries were always raw in the middle.
There are 3 pools, all of which are ok, but visible patched repairs, missing tiles, damaged pool buildings and cracked walls again point to a lack of maintenance & investment over the years.
Tellingly, none of the other people we met that had stayed thought it was great either. Renovations were already underway during our stay. I’d give them at least a year to make some headway before I’d consider staying here again.

Amazing stay with stunning views! I stayed here for 2 weeks for my sandbox alone and had such a good time! I was in a room with a pool and ocean view and the sunsets are incredible. The staff are so kind and friendly. There is daily room cleaning and water, a varied menu at the different restaurants and they make amazing cocktails! As a heads up it is all set up in the hills so be prepared to get your steps in - but there is also a trolley service running constantly that will always drop you off. Thoroughly recommend staying here!
The location is great, it is far enough away from central Patong to feel peaceful but is a 5 minute walk to Patong Beach and the main Street!
The staff are wonderful! Special thanks to Honey and Smile for being so kind, friendly and helpful during my stay!

The hotel looked beautiful but the whole experience was extremely disappointing
1. My friend was down at reception at least 6 times trying to sort out problem of broken furniture, room change etc and the staff was just not helpful
2. I was really disappointed with the restaurant as we were informed by the waitress that they ran out of the food we ordered for a good handful of dishes we asked. So I ended up having Pad thai for both lunch and dinner which seemed to be the only thing available. The service was also a bit disappointing as the waitress couldn't understand English well.
3. Broken furniture in the room which had nails sticking out of the draw. I consider it was extremely dangerous to the customers.
I really did enjoy the pool and the view from our room. So I can honestly give the hotel two stars and tell my fellow travellers to avoid it if possible. There are lots hotels on patong beach which are much better! (We also stayed at holiday Inn which was great)

Me and my boyfriend stayed for a week, he hade a great time. very good location, just outside the hotel you can rent a scooter, buy fresh fruit and do laundry. You can walk to Patong beach or just take a taxi. The resort has 3 amazing swimming pools, 2 restaurants, beautiful view over the ocean. the staff is super helpful, kind and always smiling. Highly recommend this place!! enjoy :)

Despite booking 7months earlier, we arrived late at night, to be told they didn't have a room ready. The check in staff were rude and required us to wait another hour till they made up a room. The room had a very noisy air conditioner, the shower leaked and the bed was 2 singles pushed together. We were given a new room the following day. With over 300 stairs to navigate to get back to the lobby or wait to have a shuttle come and pick you up. The resort is undergoing renovations so there is understandably additional noise created by electric saws and angle grinders. This also required the escalator and solitary lift to be out of use. There is a constant smell of raw sewerage around the resort. The breakfast buffet is very limited. The lunch / dinner menus are overpriced. Better value and quality by eating out of the resort. The resort is in desperate need of repair and more additional staff throughout. The resort has changed name to Andamantra Resort but don't be fooled. It is the same place and same issues. Many of the photos for the resort only show the pools and private villas, NOT the standard "deluxe" rooms on the other floors. Don't be FOOLED!
Don't waste your money by staying here. There are many more convenient hotels and resorts available without any of these problems. Many fellow travellers did not have these issues. The resort should re evaluate their supposed 4 star rating back to a 2. Would never return to this resort. Poor staff, Poor service, Poor management.

I took a Grand Deluxe Ocean Room, it was a splendid choice! The price is cheap for me for one week stay. Actual experience here really topped the bad review i read about this place, the room came with a separate bathub and shower, yes the bathtub is big with a sliding window u can choose to open or not. The room came w common amenities, except for iron (i think must request from the hotel). The balcony facing ocean let u embrace the Thailand breeze. The room location is quite nice, all-day dining (Blue Horizon) is just one floor down from the room, an esclator is provided, swimming pool is just beside the restaurant. Two floor down you can find Andamantra Spa, the ambiance and the masseuse are great. All the rooms in this resort are uphill, and you have to contact the front desk to send a buggy if you want to go outside, surprisingly the service here is efficient, not for a minute i called, the buggy is already arrived to my building. The hotel is a bit far to Patong Beach if you want to walk, suggest if you travelled with family, you can take taxi or tuk tuk, if you travel couple, you can just rent a scooter.

We stayed in the Grand Honeymoon room and it was gorgeous with a four poster bed, large walk in shower and outdoor bathtub on the balcony overlooking the ocean.
The hotel is located on a steep hill but the hotel offers a free shuttle car service from the lobby to your room. You call reception and it picks you up but can take a few minutes when busy. There is a taxi stand right outside the hotel and it’s about a 10 minute drive to Bangla Road.
Breakfast was included and there was a good choice for breakfast everyday with a live cooking egg station too.
The infinity pool is stunning and the sunbeds are great and very comfortable.
Room service was slightly on the expensive side but there was a good choice of western and Thai and we enjoyed the huge breakfast platter in our room one morning.
