Most travelers commend Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket for its cleanliness and the meticulous upkeep of its rooms. The hotel's serene location is praised for its breathtaking views over Patong and convenient shuttle service to the local nightlife. While the spacious rooms with sea vistas are a hit, some guests mention maintenance could be improved. The service is generally lauded for its warmth, though the pool bar can be slow. The ambiance is consistently described as tranquil and inviting, with live music often enhancing the experience. Opinions on value and amenities vary, but the infinity pool and dining options are popular highlights.

A wonderful holiday at Kalima Resort & Spa, Phuket. We stayed for 3 nights in July 2024 as a couple. We arrived by flight from Koh Samui and check in easily.

We had booked the Deluxe Sea View Room and were on a full board package with breakfast, lunch and dinner items as a set menu to be selected from a few options at the Malika rooftop restaurant. A limited spread in Desserts, Salads/Appetizers while the Main course spread was alright. Water was chargeable during any meal.

The SPA was really nice with great SPA Staff & treatments were just amazing. Visited the SPA twice during our stay and was truly a wonderful, relaxing experience. The weather in July was cloudy with light rain, so it was perfect and not so hot during the day, but humid still. The resort is a quick 10 min from Patong beach and has a regular shuttle during the day. House-keeping was great and also did replenish the toiletries/shower gels/towels well considering an almost beach resort.

We spent most of the time on the balcony with the crystal clear ocean and visiting the nearby Patong Beach area as all restaurants, eateries, shopping was all right there.

The resort overall is truly awesome, for a perfect holiday! We would definitely recommend to stay here at Kalima Resort & Spa Phuket!!!

Dear KARL M, Thank you very much for sharing a wonderful experience on your recently stay with us. We are delighted to hear that your 3 nights holiday was such a memorable and enjoyable experience. It’s wonderful to know that your check-in process was smooth and that you enjoyed the comfort of your Deluxe Sea View Room. Your feedback on the full board package at our Malika Sky Bar is valuable, and we will review your comments regarding the dessert and salad options to enhance our offerings further. We are especially pleased that you had such a relaxing experience at our spa and appreciated the exceptional service provided by our spa team. It’s also great to hear that the housekeeping team ensured your room remained replenished and comfortable throughout your stay. The picturesque views and convenient access to Patong Beach seem to have added to your overall enjoyment, and we are thrilled that the shuttle service made your exploration even more convenient. Your recommendation means a great deal to us, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon for another perfect holiday. Best Regards, Tanyaphat Raheria (Mr.) Resort Manager

Very nice hotel overlooking Patong Bay, the rooms are spacious and offer magnificent views of the bay.
The Sky bar is fantastic and the young bartender who meets the name “M” knows his job perfectly and will be able to propose and prepare you the cocktail that corresponds to your expectations.
The restaurant is also very nice in the evening with views of the city, the menu is varied, with a choice of sufficient wines.
The breakfast is amazing, nothing wrong.
The weak points are as follows; smokers are not welcome, small smoking areas without table or chair relayed each time in bicornue places and very remote.
It is impossible to leave the hotel to take a walk, the road in front is extremely dangerous.
The pool staff speak very poor English and did not give me the impression of being motivated in the work, too bad because all the other members were exemplary.
The rooms are not perfectly soundproofed, the flow of toilets to be reviewed and details of finishes and painting to be reviewed for a hotel that is supposed to be high-end, the same goes for the exterior finishes of the facades that deserve a refreshment.
Overall we are very satisfied with our stay, just be careful to keep the whole establishment in perfect condition and ensure that there is no skill gap between the staff of the pool and the Sky bar to qualify for this rate.

A beautiful hotel. Impeccably clean. Big rooms and lovely bathrooms. Breakfast is amazing. A huge choice of many different types of food, some of which changed every day. It was fresh and all tasted good.

The main pool area was good, not as busy as I feared. The service at the pool bar was pretty slow, more bar staff are needed. The second pool, by the mini golf at the top of the resort was almost deserted.

Be careful about which room you book/building you are in. When we arrived we were told our room would be in Building 5, because we hadn't booked a sea view room. Most of the rooms in Building 5 look straight out onto a grey concrete wall, about 10 feet from the balconies. It turns out you either book a room with a sea view or you get what was referred to by the reception staff as a "non-view" room. We had expected that rooms which were not "sea view" would look out over a garden or pool, not a concrete wall. I don't understand how a 5* hotel can even sell rooms where the balconies look straight out onto a wall. We asked to be given a room in a different building and fortunately this was possible.

The Reception staff, particularly Roze, were very helpful, as were the bell boys and restaurant staff. We stayed at Christmas and had an excellent meal at Malika restaurant. The service was very attentive. It was my son's birthday when we were there and the housekeepers decorated his bed, which was very sweet.

Dear Fiona S, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your recently experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness of our hotel, the spacious rooms and bathrooms, and the impressive variety of fresh and delicious offerings at our breakfast buffet. It’s also wonderful to know that you had a memorable dining experience at Malika Sky Bar and that our housekeeping team added a thoughtful touch to your son’s birthday celebration. Your comments regarding the pool bar service and room allocation are sincerely appreciated. We regret that your initial room placement in Building 5 did not meet your expectations and that the view was disappointing. While we do our best to provide room descriptions as accurately as possible, your feedback highlights an opportunity for us to improve how we communicate room details during the booking process. We are pleased that our reception team, particularly Roze, was able to accommodate your request for a room change. Your kind words about the attentive service from our reception, bellboys, and restaurant staff are truly appreciated, and I will be sure to share your compliments with them. We value your insights and will use your feedback to enhance our guests’ experiences. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back for another wonderful stay. The hotel is wonderful, we spent 10 nights at the hotel and I can say the team are all amazing, we really have had a wonderful experience and such a great team look after us. It’s made me fall in love with Thailand. The hotel is situated on a hill side so it’s not recommended if you can’t do a few flights of stairs, it’s beautiful but I feel it could have been slightly better designed as the foyer is accessed for our room via going down a lift then down steps then up steps across a corridor then down another lift, which is fine when your fully fit also if it’s torrential raining you get soaked. The hotel provided us with beach towels , beach bag , flip flops, spa robes , spa shoes, umbrellas , shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, sewing kit, shower cap and emery board. The breakfast is best I’ve ever had, literally caters for everyone, gluten free cakes, almond milk and traditional continental, plus Thai , American and everything in between. You could have curry , sausages , passionfruit and even ice cream the list was endless. A coke/ ginger ale was 80 baht about £1.50 at hotel. The spa facilities were good and I would recommend, we were served tea and biscuits after our treatments. I went to yoga it’s free it’s ok could be better as seemed same routine and maybe a bit much unless you do yoga regularly and probably a different room as the gym noise is distracting when users clang weights. There is a free shuttle bus every 2hrs to Patong beach, just so you are aware you can’t walk anywhere safely from hotel as the road is so busy and no real pavement. Great times though and would recommend the elephant jungle sanctuary as a trip and Siam niramit as a show. Also want to thank Nui for being an outstanding maid and so thoughtful, we were unwell 1 day and the next she was asking if ok etc and always left our room immaculate. also lovely girl serving and recommending dishes in the restaurant (vegan green curry) and something to eat after Tom yum soup and a girl with trainee badge who made our trip even better. Just could have done with some more ripe avocados as the salad was amazing when it was available. I’m definitely saving to come back and I would highly recommend for a chilled out resort in the middle of nowhere with good views, amazing food and a bus or taxi ride to many other places just a short distance away.

Dear Emma C, Thank you very much for taking your time to share a wonderful experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful 10-night experience and that our team made a positive impression on your stay, helping you fall in love with Thailand. It’s always our aim to provide exceptional service, and we are thrilled that our efforts contributed to your memorable experience. We appreciate your feedback regarding the layout of the hotel. Being located on a hillside offers stunning views, but we understand the challenges it may pose for guests navigating the steps and lifts, especially in inclement weather. Your comments are valuable as we continuously seek ways to improve our guests' experience. We are pleased that you enjoyed the variety offered at breakfast and found our in-room amenities thoughtful and convenient. It’s great to know that you appreciated the spa treatments and the complimentary yoga sessions, and we’ll take your suggestions into consideration to enhance these offerings further. Thank you for your kind words about our staff members, especially Nui and the restaurant team. We will ensure they receive your compliments, as they take great pride in providing warm and attentive service. Your mention of the food, from the breakfast selection to the vegan dishes, is much appreciated, and we’ll work on ensuring the availability of fresh ingredients like ripe avocados. We are delighted that you plan to return, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another relaxing and enjoyable stay. Thank you again for your recommendation and for highlighting the nearby attractions that other guests may enjoy. Best Regards, Tanyaphat Raheria (Mr.) Resort Manager

First impressions were not great, first room we were given, within 5 minutes we noticed the surfaces were covered in ants, not just 1 or 2, but hundreds. Also my son's bed was covered in stains and not fit for a hostel, never mind a supposed 5 star hotel. However after a phone call to request a manager up to the room, we were offered another room 2 floors up. Same category. This one was clean, however shower broken (small shower head still worked) (toilet was leaking) they were at full capacity so no more rooms available plus we were so tired, we just wanted to unpack and relax. Not much storage space for 2 people, never mind 3, one wardrobe no drawers. So basically lived out of the suitcase for the 2 weeks.
There is only 1 lift servicing this whole hotel, the lift is not air conditioned, nor is the lobby.
The pool bar is the only place to get a drink/soft drink during the day, service is extremely slow, there is no order, basically a free for all, probably needs to be more structure to this, 1 bar tender doing only cocktails, the other servicing other people soft drinks. It's not hard and could be a good feature. Although you have still got to wade into order a drink. Not really the makings of a 5 star resort. Cocktails are watered down, hardly any alcohol in the drinks. We watched the ratio of mixtures to alcohol served and they were not correct for a proper cocktail.
If you are down to the pool past 11am, you won't get a sunbed, not enough room for the amount of people at the hotel, plus they allow people to put towels down and leave them for hours on end while other people are looking for a sunbed.

Bar/Restaurant on the roof top was lovely, mainly because of the view, drinks seemed to be more professionally made there. However this only opens from 5.30pm. Food was good, service was hit or miss. One evening service was great, other evenings we waited 1.5 hour for main course and they were not even full. Waiting staff did lots of chatting between themselves. Hotel seems run down, in need of renovations. Within 1 week the ants were back, so we spoke to the maid, she came armed with bug spray from her trolley. This got rid of them for a few days then they were back, last day they were all over my son's bed, so we asked for a deep clean of the room. I couldn't wait to leave after this. Not what you expect.

The hotel is about 7 miles from Patong, the shuttle bus takes you into the centre, however with the traffic in the evenings, it took us 1 hour 15 minutes to get in for dinner. So be prepared to wait in traffic, they just can't cope with the amount of tourists. The men who are in reception taking your luggage are a credit to the hotel, very friendly, helpful, I like to end on a positive and they were it in my opinion.

We spent six very pleasant days at this property.
The property is equipped with every comfort, from the pool to the spa, different culinary proposals, a free shuttle that takes you to Patong.
The decentralized location allows you to rest better away from the chaos of Patong, with magnificent sea views regarding our room.
All the staff of the hotel has always been very kind and prepared.
The rooms were clean and well appointed. Nany, the cleaning girl was fantastic; she pampered and surprised us every day with a new decoration made of towels.

We stayed at Kalima resort for 7 days and it has been nothing short of amazing. During our stay, my mum celebrated her birthday and she felt special after the restaurant staff Deedee and Noodang surprised her with a cake and singing the birthday song. Rey was also an outstanding staff and was always greeting us with a smile. We returned to our room already cleaned with a H.B.D written on the bed. She will not forget this treatment ever! A special shoutout to Kwan who did a phenomenal job cleaning our rooms every time we requested a clean. We extend our thanks to Manager Sunny who made breakfast enjoyable by going around and checking the guests. We enjoyed your conversations and your company. Our Buggy Loh as always was amazing and always checking on us. Thanks for getting our bags and also greeting us everywhere you see us.

The food is amazing, the view from L6 is mesmerizing, the staff are extraordinary. Check in was a bit delayed but the checkout process was very fast.

I highly recommend staying here at Kalima if you are visiting Phuket. You will enjoy it like we did.

Keep up the great work team Kalima.

Excellent property and an even better staff. We stayed here for 3 days and even though we booked a deluxe room without a view, a mistake by our travel partner, they upgraded us to a sea view room. The rooms are big enough for a family and the balcony is perfect. Service is fast and efficient. We had an issue with the bathtub and toilet but the housekeeping staff fixed the problem within 20 minutes. We had to make a trip to 7-11 late at night to pick something up for our kid and the hotel very kindly provided their own transport, free of charge, to the nearest 7-11. If you visit, ask for Anber who works at the front desk. He goes out of his way to assist you and is a very pleasant and genuine person. We wanted to stay for 2 more days but they were, unfortunately, sold out. Thank you Kalima for a great holiday.

A very good hotel choice on the outskirts of Patong. The hotel has good access to other parts of the island, and is away from the busy part of town. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast selection is varied and plentiful. The in-room dining and rooftop restaurant food was good and reasonably priced, but could do with more vegetarian options, as currently the options are a little unadventurous (pasta, pizza). The room we stayed in was a Grand Deluxe Sea View, which had a large balcony with a view of the bay. The room was comfortable and cleaned to an excellent standard each day. I would stay here again if in the area.

What an amazing hotel, the views from our room and infinite pool was breathtaking, waking up to that sea view, mountains and sunset was out of this world. The staff were amazing, always helpful and quick to act on any issue or need.
