Detailed Reviews
We upgraded to a suite on arrival for a very reasonable fee and it was so worth it.
The gedroom ang living rooms were large, spotlessly clean and airy with 2 balconies overlooking the pool.
The sofa doubled up as a large comfortable bed and each room had a TV. Little details like providing 2 bathrooms, full length mirror, adequate number of hangers, magnifying mirror and good vanity lighting, table and chairs, thick sound absorbing curtains, made the difference between an acceptable stay to a superb experience.
There was music at the pool, which was initially a worry but this was tasteful and was kept to a reasonable sound level, and turned off at 8 pm and this was not a mn issue at all.
Although the roads outside had issues with sewage smells, the hotel grounds and pool had none.
Hotel is central and within a few minutes walk to the beach and all the shopping areas.
Breakfast was buffet with a good choice of oriental, Indian and European foods and the option to order freshly cooked eggs.
Room Service was good.
Staff and housekeeping were excellent, and accommodated all our needs.
Treatments and massage at the Varuna spa we're very relaxing in very clean rooms.
Luxurious, clean, well maintained hotel and the attention to detail made the stay a throughly enjoyable one and I would highly recommend this hotel.

+1
This beautiful 4 star resort is a hidden gym in Patong! The entire staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful starting with Axle, the manager. He continually checks in with all the guests and is a role model for his professional staff. The grounds are spotless, beautiful and comfortable. My room is only 3 meters from the large pool and is extremely comfortable, beginning with the high quality bed, linens and multiple towels. I know this place must have been a 5 star resort when it was new. The good quality furniture and gym equipment is maintained well. This nearly comprehensive gym is open 24hrs!!! The breakfast buffet has an extensive variety of freshly prepared healthy dishes. The restaurant host, Chatz, is incredibly friendly and is another wonderful role model for this staff. Can you tell I love this place? :). I will miss it after my 17 day stay here but will recommend it to everyone I know!

i was a little confused by some of the bad reviews on here once i was at the hotel. we were greeted by friendly staff and our bags were brought up to our room for us. i was happy with the room, it was spacious and clean. it cooled down decently quick as well. this was my first time visiting anywhere in asia so i was not aware that in thailand you are not supposed to flush tp at all. you are expected to use a handheld sprayer to clean yourself up, so be ready!
some wrote in their reviews that the elevator doesnt work. it works, but the humidity seems to affect the sensor, so wipe it off. you should DEFINITELY be carrying hand wipes/sanitizer everywhere anyway. and yes, the shower leaked all over the floor but it is a design flaw. put a towel there along the glass part. no hotel is perfect and these are all minor flaws and did not affect our stay at all. the pool area was beautiful, and you will be supplied pool towels in the room. breakfast is great as there were many options and a changing menu.
laundry services are thorough and delivered on time. room service was the same. spa services were just mediocre. it was quite difficult to communicate with them in terms of comfort during the treatment. there are so many massage places EVERYWHERE that are good and much cheaper.
the hotel is surprisingly tranquil even though it is right in the middle of tons of street food vendors, sit down restaurants, coffee shops, 7-11s, massage places, and is not far from the beach which is worth visiting.
fantastic stay! we will definitely be staying here the next time we visit phuket! thanks to all the staff!

Very disappointed with the Sawaddi Patong Resort & Spa. Never have i had a problem with the service in any accomodation facilities at Phuket and this was our 3rd time we had travelled to Phuket.
When we arrived we were assigned a twin room, when i booked a double room via agoda, i also requested a Large Bed on my booking request. They said they were fully booked for double rooms, when i had already booked this prior to arrival. We asked if they could at least push the beds together to make it a double, they advised they could not do this. When we got to our room it was simple for my partner and i to push the beds together so why could't the resort? And the fact that we paid for a double room and didn't receive a double room.
We were staying in the new building, the rooms are an average size hotel room which is good, but the bathroom had a foul smell coming from the toilet drain.
We were checking out of the hotel and they wanted to charge us 2000 Thai Baht because i had fake tan left on the bed from my body, this was absolutely ridiculous!
I then explained to the resort, the product will wash out of the sheets. Many other hotels i have stayed in before and left tan on the bed, they have never had a problem!
They still insisted that we had to pay for the cleaning of the sheets, when they couldn't even apologise for giving us the wrong room. That is $100 Aus Dollar, we don't even pay that in Australia to get Laundry done.
We insisted to get the sheets from the cleaners and get our own quote for the sheets down the street. My partner when down to the laundry service near the hotel and was quoted 300 Thai Baht for a full clean, the man working at the laundry service was also in shock after telling him how much the Resort was going to charge us! What a major difference between 300 Thai Baht to 2000 Thai Baht!!!
The hotel was not happy that we had gone and got our own quote. Please don't scam or rip off tourists ridiculous amounts of money for something so simple. These types of Resorts makes you not want to return back due to their lack of service and horrible mannerism.

The hotel is in a very good location, walking distance to main tourist areas but far enough to be able to get away from it all. Another positive is the staff, they are all very friendly and connect with you once you have been there a few days, although one staff member whose name I cannot remember was not that good. Do nt remember his name but he was bald and has funny teeth, he was not good at recognising longer term guests even though he saw them on a regular basis, he seemed more interested in his mobile phone most of the time. Th pool areas are very nice and the pools are kept very clean. But cleanliness seems a bit of a problem in this hote as they do not appear to have enough cleanning staff, tables in the pool area are not wiped clean after use and the I would see the poor cleaner trying to keep every area clean with his mop but on his own was always fighting a losing battle. Our room cleaner was also very poor, she was not really a cleaner as all she seemed to do was replenish towels, coffee and tea and make the bed, the flowers were hardly ever swept and the bathroom sink and surrounding surface would not be wiped down, I must say that this seemed to be a problem woth this particular cleaner as when she was off we noticed the difference! The music played at the main pool was the same every day on a loop and was just dance music when the average age of the people around the pool was 40 to 80! Most people found it annoying. The breakfast was average and after a few days monotonous as it was the same every day, I have been in hotels all over the world and an effort is made to provide some different items every day while keeping the main staples of eggs, toast and fruit. The staff were all very hard working but there was not enough of them, more staff would make everything work much better. We also found that there were inconsistencies, at breakfast some people were stopped from taking a small cake or a cup of coffee out of the restaurant while other filled bags or wlked out with a plate full of food, you either have the staff to stop everyone or if not better not to stop anyone. Same with the pool, I saw the security guard ask a mature couple who were having a quiet swim to get out of the pool as it was 8.30 pm(pool closed at 8pm) and then the next night there was a lrge group of young people in the pool at 9.30pmwith the bar open for them and the music on! That is not on, you have to be consistent in the way you great guests. Overall we enjoyed our stay but htere are issues that need to be sorted out which would then make it a great hotel. Would we stay again, probably asd overall it was a pleasant stay. We travel extensively all over the world and have been to many hotels so this review should be taken as constructive criticism in order that improvements can be made as the rtaw materials are already there.

We stayed here for 3 nights and met our Contiki group here! First impressions of the hotel were fantastic, inviting friendly staff checked us in and showed us to our room which looked brand spanking new and spotless. We arrived at night and went straight to sleep (our only minor complaint was that the mattress was on the harder side). We woke up and headed to breakfast which was perfect, exactly what we expected. The pools were great, as well as the friendly bar staff. When we returned to Patong later in out trip, we stayed at a similarly priced hotel which was absolutely terrible in comparison! We wish we came back to Sawaddi Patong! Hotel is in a good location, 10-15 minute walk from everything, and a constant flow of taxis and tuktuks if walking isn't your thing.

Stayed here with Contiki before doing my tour, could not of been happier with the hotel and the service was excellent throughout. Ate at the hotel restaurant and pool bar, the food was also great. However, I can see this is abit of a show due to me staying there on behalf of a tour group!
Because...
I stayed here after my tour, booked privately via booking.com, and it was a completely different story! Baring in mind the dates I stayed here were just over a week apart!
I arrived and checked in, I was not shown to my room, I had to carry my own bags a long distance, I only knew where I was going due to having stayed here before. Signs were poor, I had to guess which floor my room was on, getting off at each level to check!!
Got to the room and I had two twin beds, when a double room had been requested and paid for! The air con was also not working. I went to reception to request a room change and they told me there were ‘no double rooms’ available in the hotel, however I had prebooked a double room so I didn’t understand why there was none available, so I raised concern.
Friends from the tour also had the same problem with a double room being prebooked and they were given a twin room. After being told there were no double rooms, they paid 500baht for an upgrade, and magically a double room appeared?? Funny.
The two girls on reception on 29/01/20 @ 14:00 were so rude, unhelpful and there only suggestion to help me was ring booking.com (who are based in the UK so this would’ve cost me a fortune!) I then raised that the air con wasn’t working, and got a sarcastic reply from girl on reception, saying I needed to close the balacony doors, which I hadn’t opened as I had literally walked in and back out. There customer service was absolutely appalling, I ended up walking away in absolute frustration due them being so sarcastic and unhelpful. Terrible pair to have as your front of house.
Other than that, the other staff were polite and kind. Food and drink was good and reasonably priced. Clean pool towels everyday and rooms made up lovely, the cleaners were friendly and couldn’t have done a better job.
On one ocasssion I wasn’t given my 2 bottles of drinking water (allocated per day) so this was poor. Don’t buy bottled water from the hotel, there is a shop down the road.
First visit with the tour: 9/10
Second visit booked privately: 6/10

What a beautiful hotel. Not just the aesthetics with all the pretty touches but the warm and welcoming atmosphere provided by the fabulous staff.
It really is the staff that make this place so wonderful. Khun Chats in the restaurant is an absolute star. So welcoming and helpful. He was an absolute delight to deal with and everyone in our group absolutely loved him.
Also Khun NOK, who was so sincere and kind. Nothing was a problem for her.
Khun Jarunee helped me make the booking and was incredibly patient with my many emails and questions.
Khun Lula (spelling?) was so fun and friendly.
All the staff should be commended on their professionalism and helpfulness.
My room was large, clean and functional. I loved the pool / beach bag with towels packed ready to go.
Breakfast was fabulous… halfway through our stay it changed from buffet to a la Carte (I’m guessing due to lower guest numbers?) and while I prefer the buffet breakfast this was still nice. The chef’s homemade coconut jam was delicious.
Pool bar had great cocktails and there were some great promotions while we were there.
There are several 7-11s and a Family Mart nearby, as well as a pharmacy and a few good restaurants on the same street.
I only have two recommendations for improvement….
1. That housekeeping leave more than just one roll of toilet paper when they clean the room.
2. When I went to check out, the staff at reception were not clear how the housekeeping promotion worked… the door tag stated that for every day rooms DIDN’T utilise housekeeping services then 30baht would be credited at checkout…. When I was finalising my bill a few calls had to be made to sort it out and in the end I received a credit of about HALF of what I’d anticipated.
Overall I really enjoyed my time at Sawaddi! The service, rooms, pool and welcoming atmosphere definitely made our trip one to remember.

Our experience was not good with the resort. Firstly, we booked room with one master bed but provided room with two single and staff was very rude in addressing the issue. Secondly the receptionist particularly Ms View was very very rude Never answered any query properly and not welcoming at all. Room service was pathetic once they opened our door without knocking and once denied to send cutlery to room.Overall not good experience only good thing was its location and breakfast.

The good:
1)Reception:All the reception staffs were very polite, friendly and helpful especially khun nok, khun fon and khun bia. These 3 ladies always greeted me with a smile and were very patient and helpful with any issues i may have had during my stay there.
2)Housekeeping:All the housekeeping staffs were also very nice and did a very good job in tidying up the room.
3)All other staffs:Everyone was so polite and friendly.
4)Hotel manager:Very friendly.
Can be improved:
1)I observed that at times the reception area is crowded with people waiting or there is a delay in checking in people to their rooms or people checking out as there were not enough receptionists to handle the volume of guests arriving at the hotel.
The receptionist/receptionists looked overwhelmed by the number of guests arriving at the hotel especially during the peak period.
There are 4 reception counters but most of the time there is only one or two receptionists available.
And the receptionist also double up as porters.
When the receptionist brings the guests to their rooms sometimes no one is at the reception area or there is only one receptionist available.
I sincerely believe that the receptionist should not have to double up as a porter and bring guests bags to their rooms as this will take them away from their primary duty of being at the reception counter to handle calls and checking in/out guests.
