I walked into Sonya Residence while looking for an affordable place to stay with a private room. The ladies at the front desk were so nice and accommodating and we instantly bonded on a personal level. The location is excellent and the room was exactly what I was looking for - something cheaper than a pricey hotel but nicer than a rowdy hostel. I loved it!

The good stuff first out weighs the small things. The lady was really nice and helpful. We especially liked that we were upgraded from a standard double room to a double room with a balcony. The room and balcony is big with a nice seating area. Nice size bathroom which all areas kept clean. Nice big fridge, microwave and kettle with tea / coffee. It was like a bachelor apartment. AC and rotating fan worked great. Location was perfect located on a side road off the main beach road to make it a 3 minute walk to the beach. Everything you need is right out the door. The few things that could be improved would be the wifi...it kept dropping every 3-5 minutes. The bed was hard and you could feel a bit of the springs. The TV didn't work (no big deal for us but we just wanted to see) only the screen but no box to transmit through. Lastly the room could feel a bit more cozy if there were a picture or two and / or different colors of paint. Just a lil tender care would be nice. …

Fantastic location a one minute walk from Patong Beach and around five or six minutes to Bangla Road. The AC keeps the room cool and a fridge is provided which is a great touch. Shower works well, safety deposit box is secure and the WiFi fast and reliable. Fresh bottles of water are provided each day and the staff are absolutely fantastic. Would definitely definitely recommend this place to stay in Patong Beach. Only negatives, the bed, whilst massive, is hard and a bit uncomfortable but nowhere near enough of an issue to be put off and the room looks a bit tired and maybe could do with a refresh.

I stayed 2 nights and it wasn't great. I asked for a quiet room a month prior, but when I arrived they said that it was given to a group who ordered before. I wished they had told me that beforehand so I could've made a decision whether to stay or not. -It was very loud, also the window faces the back street was very loud. The upper part of door is glass so light from outside goes in, and makes it difficult to sleep (even with eye mask and earplugs). -The shower is very small and water is only lukewarm and no pressure (which is normal in Thailand). + It was 5 min from the beach, bars and restaurants. +The staff girls were very nice!

Very nice place: very cheap, 3 min to the sea and 3 minutes walking to Bangla rd but very quite. Mog, the owner of the residence, is a very good and helpful person. She always helped us for information or tours. Thank you Mog and thank you to her friend who made me a cool hairstyle.

I have stayed twice at Sonya Residence in Soi Wattana, Patong Beach. My room was excellent. Serviced every day and had great appliances. The Manager and Staff are very helpful and friendly and look after you very well. It is also well situated. Just a short walk to the beach, Bangla Rd Nightspots and Restaurants. I enjoyed my stays there and will stay again next year. Sonya Residence is a home away from home. I recommend it for a holiday.

this is second time i stayed at sonya, i found it by accident as i was eating at euro thai restaurant. the place is clean, hot water, and cold ac. great location, high ceiling, slight bit noise, but quiet at night after 11pm. steps to the beach, stores, and restaurant. save the money from hotel and spend on activities. my room is bigger than 30sqm with a balcony. there are small ants, however i stayed at meridien they have same problem. just don't bring food in the room.

What a great find! Excellent and quiet location not even a five minute walk from the beach. The rooms were very clean and reasonably priced. Sonya and staff were so wonderful and friendly. I Definitely recommend this place.

Sonya Residence, a great place to stay. Very nice and big room, very very quite! 50m to the Beach, many Restaurants, shops, supermarkets directly next door. Ms. Mog the new Manager, with excellent English, always taking care of needs or problems...! I can highly recommend it for a nice and relaxing stay in Phuket/Patong Beach👍😃

Brilliant location 50m from Patong beach but in a quiet Soi with some great restaurants Value for money rooms but with excellent service, English speaking, extremely helpful, whatever your requirements just ask Mog and she will always help. Near enough to the bar areas but far enough away so quiet, and the many shopping markets as well as Jungceylon
