Detailed Reviews

Unfortunately we can only give a maximum of 5 stars to somewhere that merits more. This is described as a homestay but really it’s a well run hotel. We absolutely loved our 3 nights in the care of Manee and her team. Right from the beginning nothing was too much trouble; the room was ready for an early check in and we were shown the snacks and drinks that we could help ourselves to. We were very pleased with the bright, spacious room with the quirky artwork, view of the garden, and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed had a soft topper that will suit western tourists and there was a lounger chair, fridge, safe and excellent quiet a/c. It even had a little balcony. Our WiFi was a bit weak, probably because we were at the end of the corridor away from the router.
The on-site cafe is no longer open and breakfast was not the full array, probably because there weren’t many guests, but we enjoyed sandwiches, fruit, homemade fruit juices and assorted cakes and biscuits made by Manee herself. She’s an excellent baker. It was a good start to the day.
Apart from the general level of comfort for a very modest price, what stands out is the personal attention we received. Manee, who speaks fluent English, took an interest in our plans and helped us organise activities and onward travel. The lady on reception also speaks some English and is friendly and helpful. Leaving felt like leaving friends and we would come back in an instant.

I was here a couple nights before and after my son attended military training camp at Ladya, this is an incomparable three stars hotel in Kanchanaburi that meet all my expectation; very high standard cleanliness of room, spotless sheet, a mold free bathroom, comfortable bed mattress with topper, great hospitality. There are everything you need in the 30 SQM. room; toiletries, fridge, safe, small balcony, bottle-opener, free high speed wifi, worktable, flat screen TV, full length mirror for a quick reflection check. The hotel hospitality is great; very friendly staff and there are snack, home-bake cookies, brownies, sandwiches, fresh fruit, and small bottled drinking water free of charge at lobby. Highly recommended!!

We initially booked one night here and enjoyed our stay so much we extended for a second night and then again for a further night. Location is perfect, reasonably central but also quiet. Our double room was a good size, clean and very comfortable. Great value and the price included a breakfast buffet which was served outside at the front of the property, a wide selection of food was available with as much as you can eat. And to cap it all, the manager Ae was great fun and helpful. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for four nights.
The staff are lovely.
The room was clean, the bed enormous, the air conditioning fierce.
There was always free bottled water and little nibbles in reception.
The location is quiet but close enough to the main drag to facilitate easy access for food, drinks, and the main tourist attractions.

Stayed for 4 days during Songkran 2021. It is not a resort experience... there is no swimming pool and the only meal available is breakfast. I will say that it was an extremely good and plentiful breakfast however. And there is a small but very cozy garden behind the residence building. What it is, is a very pleasant, well appointed cross between a boutique hotel and a bed & breakfast. Our room was large and extremely comfortable, with a small patio overlooking the garden. There are excellent modern paintings hanging in the hallways and in our room. WiFi was excellent; we could use several devices at once and I was able to Skype to the USA with no issues. The River Kwai Bridge and many restaurants and coffee shops are a short walk away... we recommend The Library Cafe which is a 3 minute stoll down the street. And the staff, while small, is extremely hardworking and efficient, and were as friendly as you will find anywhere. Just to get away for a few days while visiting Kanchanaburi’s attractions, it would be difficult to find a better value.

I usually stay in international business hotels but with none obviously available in Kanchanaburi, we read TA reviews and chose Chez Bure. What a great hidden gem!
Simple but effective decor, the room was perfect for a one night stay with hot water and a clean comfy bed.
The service was lovely, with the team members always happy and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so generous. Free home made muffins, cookies and even snacks in the room! Breakfast was simple but filled a hole and was perfect.
One final things I wish to highlight was how clean the room and all areas were. Better than some hotels I stay at!
Overall highly recommended for a short stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful to us. Our room was very big and clean with a comfortable bed. We were surprised by the large and varied buffet breakfast served outside in the morning. It was a short walk to restaurants and not much further to the bridge. If you are a light sleeper I would suggest you request a room at the back facing the garden. Highly recommended place to stay!

Quiet location about 1.5km from the bridge over the river Kwai. Gem of a place, friendly, welcoming and outstanding service. Room was clean, spacious, well thought out with minor thoughtful touches, such as an outdoor rack on the balcony for drying laundry, complimentary drinks and snacks. Wooden furniture provided a warm touch of home to the room.
Breakfast was outstanding for the steady supply of treats from the kitchen, including little gems like grilled bananas and chocolate cake. Kitchen even packed snacks for our outing. Special thanks to "A" from the kitchen for your cheerful thoughtfulness.
Hotel gave good advice on what to do, where to go and arranged our days outing. It was our home away from home in Kanchanaburi. Thank you so much to Manee and the staff for making our trip special and memorable.

I have been coming to Chez Bure for a decade now, and just finished a stay in the relatively new building with a wonderful, clean, big room that has a great bed and very quiet for a good night’s sleep, plus a delicious breakfast!
Manee the owner is wonderful and loves baking cookies for her guests. She and her staff do a great job of maintaining, cleaning, and running this hotel.
It’s conveniently located off of River Kwai Road, and has a large parking lot for those who have their own transportation.
For me, this is the best value in Kanchanaburi, and I will be back again!

We had a great 2 night stay here to see the town, the famous Bridge and as a base to head up to see HellFire pass.
The staff were amazing (great English and very accommodating), the room spotlessly clean and well appointed (with fast reliable wifi). The bed was very comfortable.
The location is 2.6km from the main bus depot and 1.3km to the Bridge. This was quite walkable, given the humidity was much lower than Bangkok.
Highly recommended...
